The program can't start because MSVCR110_CLR0400.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem? It's been about two weeks since this first popped up and I haven't been able to play MWO.

I've searched the forums and found something similar. I tried those suggested workarounds and fixes to no avail.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times now. I also encountered the bug where MWO can't be uninstalled nor reinstalled - I found the workaround for that on the forums as well.

I emailed support when the issue first popped up. I also tried the repair tool, which produces the exact same error! It appears the repairtool is broken, so I messaged about that as well. I've had no responses from anyone.

So, I'm turning to you folks here to see what kind of solutions there could be?

I think you need this...

32-bit:
http://www.microsoft...ls.aspx?id=8328

64-bit (if you plan to use the 64-bit executable/binary of MWO):
http://www.microsoft...s.aspx?id=13523

You may have to uninstall the older (non-SP1) version to be able to install the latest/current version.

I've tried those options, with all the requisite reboots just to ensure things happened/registered. The problem persists.

It just boggles me that it can't find the file (after over a year of playing), when it's clearly there on the HDD. Wish I knew more to figure out how the associations/linking got screwed up...

Its more likely your Windows broken than the game itself.
Some path value messed up perhaps.

I would look for generic solutions not MWO specific.

I'd suggest running the Windows File Integrity checker....

I would first do a thorough run with both antivirus program and Malwarebytes since it is a recent development.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I ran the Windows File integrity checker once after this first happened on a friend's suggestion. Reading the M$ page Deathlike linked says you may need to run it up to THREE times to fix all problems. So I guess I'll be doing that for the next couple of hours... and crossing my fingers.

Ok - ran all the scans (went faster than expected) and still no joy.

Sigh...

Like summon3r said Run repair tool manually from the Piranha games/MechWarrior Online/Bin32 folder. Any missing files will be replaced. I seem to recall having a similar problem and this worked for me but I needed to run the tool repair 2 times for some reason. But 1 time should do it. Repair tool fixes a lot of problems.

Thank you EOD Operator - your suggestion was on the right track as it was a Windows problem. Ran the .net Framework repair which fixed a few things and now I'm back up and running!
