The Bloodhound Project is humanity's (another) attempt to break the ground speed record using a jet-powered "car", if you could call it that. The vehicle itself is still in construction, but here's a video of a simulation run performed in a stunt plane flew by British RAF Wing Commander Andy Green, and a normal car journalist's reaction to it. (starting at about 32:30)

It is...kinda amazing. And that statement in the end there about knowledge and fear is so badass on so many levels.
