It always happens late at night in my experience

but why not add code,, that if you do X amount of damage, and or Kill someone, it checks how much damage you did to another... then blocks you from playing for a day..

maybe that will just make um make many accounts.. but there has to be something to be done outside of letting a TKer roam all night...

thoughts?

So instead of people who just don't check their fire, we get trolls purposely attempting to get you banned for a day? No thanks...

Enough with all these Team kill "solutions" we get at least one a week.
and I'm pretty sure the only people who request them just got team killed

Trolls will team kill you, regardless of any punishment.
most of these "solutions" just punish accidental team kills. trust me it happens, I've been accidentally team killed, and I have accidentally shot teammates. Its just something that will happen when we have Friendly fire on.

if anything we should be happy more people aren't doing it. turn on FF in another shooter and you will see a genocide.

will it apply the same damage to the same section? well what if you accidentially shot your teammate, he explodes, and you explode to because of previous damage.

you just killed 2 people because of an accident.

what if its a troll who just doesn't give a ****?
you stopped nothing.

what if your teammate is humping your leg and you shoot off his arm because of him not backing off?
you just crippled two mechs because one was standing too close.

I think any solution would lead to punishing a lot of innocent mistakes and dumb stuff that happens when teams crowd in for a kill. And like many have pointed out, the potential for griefing only gets bigger when you give trolls the ability to purposely jump in front of you and get you banned for the day.

I know it doesn't ease the hurt right at the moment, but if you think someone killed you on purpose or due to sheer recklessness, and not by actual mistake, report them. If you are right, and others do the same, they will get punishment after PGI investigates.

In my entire time playing since last winter, I've seen tops.. 3-5 teamkills that were done with the intention of teamkilling.

Thats right.. a whole year.
Lots of teamkills by accident because of stupid ****, but very rarely for the purpose of greifing.

I have maybe 8 or 10 teamkills on my score, since closed beta. Yes it sometimes happens. mostly if everyone is pretty fupdup at the end of a match and it comes down to a big brawl.

If I think about planetside 2, I usually got those 8-10 teamkills on one evening (yes, I love my hover tank).

Teamkills are rare in this game, and intentional ones even more.

So calm down and keep shooting robots.

I agree, intentional team killing isn't something I see very often.

Accidental TKing happens in the heat of battle sometimes, I just shrug it off if I'm the victim. If I am the one that caused it, I apologize.

I could've tried to count the amount of team kills I saw in 2 years playing this game and it would be below 10-15. I saw a team killer once, a whole ONE time, guess he was reported anyways. So why bother if team kills occur rarely and are not intentional to begin with?

Reflective damage. If a team mate causes X% of damage to friendly the damage is nullified and reflected back to the originator. Damage ratio will be stronger at the beginning of match and diminish through out the duration of session. This would give a greater damage bonus in the beginning to prevent intentional TK but still allow a accidental TK later in match.
This would not stop team damage because that is a casualty of war but should go a long way to stop intentional team killing.

The "Grown Up" solution is "Don't shoot each other." and "Laugh it off when children try to act out with their tiny bit of power."

In all my time since CB, I think I have seen fewer then 10 intentional team kills. I have a ton of time in this game and mostly pug so I am in the main queue and know this is a non-issue.

Honestly the worst I ever saw was a new player who was jittery and when taking an arty strike thought it was intentional damage from the guy behind him.

Pro-Tip: Go play America's Army if you are jittery and it will teach you in a few days the importance of identifying then firing... not just firing at things that move....

FYI - PGI already has a fix, it's called screensshot and report. Nothing more needs to be done.

Its cheap and makes no sense, but reflective damage.

watch as the troll team killers continue to do it regardless and only end up crippling your team when you accidentally damage them.

why should I be punished because a teammate is humping my leg?

did you get team killed? report it. we don't need to punish everyone because of a few bad apples.

Well, players as a whole need a serious lesson in situational awareness anyway.......games have made **** so easy and catered noone pays attention to anything but where they are aiming, and even then, barely....

Its why in games like Planetside 2 there are videos of 1 guy running in among 30 and killing 20 before 1 of them realizes...oh hey...hes an enemy....

I think there should be a c-bill fine for damage you do to team mates.

Look, I'm going to throw these 2 gauss rounds down range. You can choose to be in front of them, or NOT STAND IN FRONT OF ILYAZILLA McGAUSSIKINS MURDERMETS!
