The Flashman!

75 Ton, heavily armed, and armored Battlemech that can keep up with the Timberwolf (Standard Variant uses an XL375) rounded body which would make it XL friendly much like other mechs that exists in this game.

This is an SLDF Mech introduced in 2701, was mocked based on its looks but became one of the most valuable mechs. The SLDF variants were 'lost' due to heavy use in the succession wars, but the Lyran Commenwealth was able to continue production of the Flashman using level 1 tech.

Two Varaints which would fit in our timetable.

FKS-8K: SLDF 2701-2775

Thirteen and a half tons of armor 216(428) of 231(462)
XL375 = 81 KP/h
15 Double Heatsinks.
Standard Structure
Standard Armor

Armament:
Large Laser x 3 (LA/CT/RA)
Medium Laser x 5 (1 LA, 2 LT, 1 RT, 1 RA)
Flamer x 1 (HD)
AMS x 1 (RT)

Hardpoint layout:

HD: 1E
CT: 1E
LT: 2E
RT:1E, 1AMS
LA: 2E
RA: 2E

Has Lower arm actuators

FKS-7K: Lyran production 2796 up
Thirteen and a half tons of armor 216(428) of 231(462)
STD300 = 64.8 KP/h
23 Single Heatsinks.
Standard Structure
Standard Armor

Armament:
Large Laser x 2 (LA/RA)
Medium Laser x 5 (1 LA, 2 LT, 1 RT, 1 RA)
Flamer x 1 (HD)

Hardpoint layout:

HD: 1E
LT: 2E
RT:1E
LA: 2E
RA: 2E

Has Lower arm actuators

PGI would have to create their own third variant, but I would be cool with that, as the cannon third variant was not built till 3061.

Flashman Away!

They already created a non-canon Enforcer variant (the 5P), so lack of variants shouldn't be an issue from this point forward.

Stats-wise the Flashy Man looks like a buffed Black Knight via higher mounted arms and a higher engine cap. However, the BK's humanoid torso shape and arms might make it more durable in-game?

I'm still rooting for the Champion.

Sleek aircraft looking torso. Supposedly it has forward knee joints *sigh*, but I can live with that I suppose. The Jenner kind of makes it work.

As long as the third variant has missles and or Ballistics I'm down, laser boats are getting old...

Hammerhands - The Warhammer's predecessor

Great heavy mech with good speed and firepower, plus JJs. Its only got 2 in-timeline variants but a third could be made as a tribute to the Warhammer, ditching the ballistics centric build for PPCs and lasers, a bigger engine, and more heatsinks.

All they gotta do is fix Hit Reg, and ballistics will be back :)

Is too much to hope for the Grand Dragon, or possibly, if we need a SLDF laser boat, the Lancelot?

If we have to endure more laser vomit, I would prefer 107 kph (stock) laser vomit.

My first choice, sadly is not in production yet. The Bandersnatch.

I haven't seen issues with IS single shot ballistics. Clans however...so much damage loss from hitreg problems. Reduction to 2 round bursts on all of them would be a major benefit to both the Clan ballistic viability and their hitreg issues. (Plus screw the Dakkawolf Impulse stunlock, it would help that a lot for many people by reducing the Effect/Particles by a whole 1/3)

Why doesn't the mini look anything like that!? That's actually really sweet.
