How many people only choose to play on their respective Server (NA players only selecting NA Server, EU players only choosing theirs)?

Since I'm not on a potato or internet from the late 90's I choose both. They both seem fine.

as long as the game picks up the closest server to me, I really don't care either way!

That's exactly what this thread is about, if you don't care then it can pick a server that is not close to you, in the interest of finding a match quicker.

So it's like you're saying the opposite of what you want.

NA only. Tried the EU, and it bumped my Ping up to 290.

If I was in east coast US I might allow Europe servers, but I'm on west coast US and I'm already not a big fan of my ping as it is (not bad but not great either) so I'm not going to play on Europe servers.

Nice to hear that Europe players are enjoying their new servers though.

East coast NA, no reason not to keep both.

Northeast US here, I get around 42 ping on the NA server and around 110 or so on the EU server. I'm fine with either. And since I work nights and livestream during the morning, I leave both checked to ensure shortest possible wait time for matches.

Honestly, not sure what I'm going to do when the Oceanic server gets put in, as I expect a ping of over 200 for that.

I average between 40-70 ping on the NA servers and roughly 140-150 on the EU. I don't see any huge differences between the two (must not be l33t enough), so I leave both flipped on. Better matches, and a better reception for the EU guys' new toy.

I am somewhat dismayed by the amount of hostility I've seen from a couple of EU guys over the whole thing, though. It's not at all a common issue, most of them just seem delighted to finally have the option and I'm happy it's working so well for them...but when I see someone say "FINALLY the goddamn Americans get to see what it's like on the right side of the ocean", I'm left wondering when I missed the meeting where 'Americans' decided that the Canadian company was going to work exclusively on NA servers back when they were developing on a shoestring and had to answer to IGP.

I'unno. I'm not really complaining so much as just baffled by the vindictiveness I've seen a few times. I've never wished bad ping on anyone, honest o_o.

I have a choice... 10 ping or 150.

I chose 10.

I seriously saw a European player say that American players were exploiting/farming Europeans by playing during their peak/near-peak hours. And I was like, well, excuse me for working nights and wanting to relax and game when I get home.

*waves Aussie flag*

My average ping to NA is 260-270 range.

My average ping to EU server has been around 400.

I swapped back to NA only, but the event means I will switch back to both.

I tried a few matches with both servers selected, as PGI suggests to do. Had to disable the EU server though, my ping almost trippled when i played on it.

For this event I'm only on EU servers. I'll definitely be playing NA servers too when the event is over.

I love EU servers because there's such an interesting mix of people, so many different characters.
German: "Ze enemy mechs are crossing ze bridge! Vee must flank zem immediately!"
Scottish: "No laddie! We hit and run! The highland way!"
British: "Nah, let's get stuck in, mate! Smash 'em good and propah!"
French: <exhales cigarette smoke> "Bien sur, my English comrade is right. Death comes to us all." <Edith Piaf music heard in the background>

NA servers are fun too. The Americans have a great sense of humour, I laugh my ass off playing with those guys. (Except for the very angry neckbeards who use VOIP to cuss at their team, which is also pretty exclusive to the American crowd, in my experience)

I ping 240+ to EU, so I'm sticking to NA.
