That's exactly what this thread is about, if you don't care then it can pick a server that is not close to you, in the interest of finding a match quicker.
So it's like you're saying the opposite of what you want.

Nice to hear that Europe players are enjoying their new servers though.

Honestly, not sure what I'm going to do when the Oceanic server gets put in, as I expect a ping of over 200 for that.

I am somewhat dismayed by the amount of hostility I've seen from a couple of EU guys over the whole thing, though. It's not at all a common issue, most of them just seem delighted to finally have the option and I'm happy it's working so well for them...but when I see someone say "FINALLY the goddamn Americans get to see what it's like on the right side of the ocean", I'm left wondering when I missed the meeting where 'Americans' decided that the Canadian company was going to work exclusively on NA servers back when they were developing on a shoestring and had to answer to IGP.
I'unno. I'm not really complaining so much as just baffled by the vindictiveness I've seen a few times. I've never wished bad ping on anyone, honest o_o.

I seriously saw a European player say that American players were exploiting/farming Europeans by playing during their peak/near-peak hours. And I was like, well, excuse me for working nights and wanting to relax and game when I get home.

My average ping to NA is 260-270 range.
My average ping to EU server has been around 400.
I swapped back to NA only, but the event means I will switch back to both.

I love EU servers because there's such an interesting mix of people, so many different characters.
German: "Ze enemy mechs are crossing ze bridge! Vee must flank zem immediately!"
Scottish: "No laddie! We hit and run! The highland way!"
British: "Nah, let's get stuck in, mate! Smash 'em good and propah!"
French: <exhales cigarette smoke> "Bien sur, my English comrade is right. Death comes to us all." <Edith Piaf music heard in the background>
NA servers are fun too. The Americans have a great sense of humour, I laugh my ass off playing with those guys. (Except for the very angry neckbeards who use VOIP to cuss at their team, which is also pretty exclusive to the American crowd, in my experience)
