This is what pisses me off about the Protector's changes; it went from having AC/20 buffs to having Gauss Rifle buffs. WTF? I mean, I never heard people crying about it being OP as a brawler...

TBH it really should have had the Gauss quirks in the first place, but I agree that once they set them like that they shouldn't be going back and messing with them. I'm extremely upset about the Wolverine-6K because it was the only LPL mech I had and I just bought both the LPL cooldown and range modules for it. Now I'll have to get LL modules, and it's going to still feel nearly identical to the CN9-AL (if not worse).

Nobody even seems to care how the CTF-2x got smashed by these changes as well for no reason.

I've kind of come to terms with the CTF-2X, I love the thing, but I never expect it to get any real love.

This is where I am at with it; I bought it because it looked like a great brawler designed to carry an AC/20; now, it is something totally different.

It actually was a great mech tbh. The quirks it has currently on live are very strong, rivaling the better AC20 mediums even. I'd rather have missile cooldown than range, maybe, but the AC20 quirks were have right now are much better. RIP the only interesting and decent CTF

I'm not happy about the Wolverine 6K changes at all. The mech finally had a purpose and was competitive and now they go and completely change the weapon quirks.

If they're going to start changing everything to stock weapon quirks or generic ones why didn't they do that from the start?

Oh, I almost forgot to give a shoutout to the Locust-3M which suddenly went from the best Locust to by far the worst. RIP little buddy, I finally got you and you're already dead before I finished basicing you.

Yep... keep shuffling the quirks around while folks waste money on mechs and modules. Sounds like a good way to make some extra cash, at least until frustration sets in...

+20% (then + module) SMR4 range on the QKD 4H

Was enjoying that little bonus...

now it's LRM 10 cooldown :(

not a huge deal but this mech was fine as is!!

Try playing the Jager-A for SRM boating after the quirks. It is pretty sweet now.

It's changes like this that make me hesitant to buy Mechs.

Tweaking is expected. If I buy a Mech that has +25% SRM cooldown and it gets tweaked to +20%, that's fine. But if it gets changed to +25% LRM cooldown, that's a complete change in the character of the Mech and I may no longer want it. They really shouldn't be making changes like that.

Just one of many reasons why I still haven't spent any.

#NeverforgetWubverine

Why didnt they just give the Thud 9s a min range of 200m-300m on the ERPPC? Wouldnt that have fixed the problem? Strong at range, not so much up close. Very niche in CW, likely less use in Puglandia.

Locust 3M? Why? I guess i can sell it for another E?

Spider D, more buffs, so sure. I like Spiders.

X-5, better. Lets see where this goes.

NOW...

If the 'theme' of these quirks is to buff stock weapons, does this mean a stock mode is impending?

Trying to discourage boating?

Was the Wubverine THAT OP? I dont remember any QQ in the forums...Or could this be a portent to a Hero Wolverine?

WHAT, did they nerf the wub-a-rine? Ima gonna cry if they did, just getting it like I like it with the mods, just like you did, that sucks.

pfff, maybe in your "capable" hands

;)

I have seen exactly one good Quickdraw pilot. I dont know who it was but he was good and made that mech shine. I have seen one good Arrow pilot to. Theres a theme here anyway. :) Anyone takes enough time to equip their favourite mech and master it will do well. Its up to the guys in the balance department to give every mech its fair shake, as best they can.

Alot of great mechs in the game with countless play styles. I really hope next quirk pass evens the playing field decently.

Quirks are starting to feel like more of a problem than an actual solution.

Quoting from 4chan thread:

"Expect quirks based on already useful builds and you get whatever random PGI flunky comes along with their "I'm so good" FoTM shitbuild and quirks to go with it.

Ideally, the quirks should be making what a 'Mech is built around really ******* good. The Wolverine 6K? Sure, make it a -good- laserblaster. It should have been getting laser quirks for all kinds- large, medium, small. The -7K should have been the Wubverine. And the Thunderbolt-9S shouldn't have been a ******* Super Awesome for 65 tons to begin with.

The way quirks should have gone? Like the Hunchback-4J. It comes with LRMs and medium lasers. It's ******* good with LRMs and good with lasers. It actually makes LRM10s into a lurmspewing death launcher."

"What quirks should have done is make low ton mechs specialist mechs that get strong quirks for one weapon or type of weapon, in exchange for carrying fewer of them.
If someone wants to toss PPCs on a 55 tonner. They'll carry more, less effective PPCs than a Vindicator."

edit:

Overall the new ones are pretty decent but some are strange.. like this one

For a Mech meant to fight in close... a long range buff seems a waste.
