I feel dirty, having been waiting for the Urbanmech for so long.... even considering another Light. And TBH, there was something really gangly about the Concept art...I liked it, but didn't love it. But the in game models? Unless it's Vindicator sized (always a possibility) I think I'm in love.
Is it perfect? Nah, the elbow came out a little funky, and I would have liked to have seen some angles to the cockpit screens in the mouth (note they weren't angles in the concept art either, just think it would add a little something), but on the whole? 9 to 9.5 out of 10.
I've been very critical of some of the aspects of the Enforcer, which just has a lazy and unfinished feel to it thanks to the Head and RA being off from the Concept Art?
But the Panther? Pure MechPorn, IMO at it's finest. End of the day, I think it will end up with the Griffin, Founder's Hunchback and original pre Itty-Bitty PPC K2 Catapult as far as being dead sexy.
So there you have it. As a fan of the game and artist, I can be very critical, because of my passion for it. But I also want to make sure to give credit where due, and IMO, the Modelers deserve a lot of credit for the Panther (with the caveat it not be oversized...... please?)
Initial quirks seem pretty solid too, should compliment the role of the mech as a slower long range sniper/harasser. But not so PPC-ridiculous as to encourage dual er ppc ridiculousness (you will shut down after 2-3 volleys on the heat neutral maps, and be totally useless on the hot ones), which I am OK with, as it would really annoy me to have a 35 ton single PPC packing mech tossing dual ppc/er ppcs better than a 70 ton clan mech can.
I will be driving my Urbie a lot, I feel for fun... but this will likely be my CW Light barring any unforeseen issues.
