I shall master the Shadowhawks while rolling completely stock.
I think for this challenge I will go with the 2K, 2D2 and 2H, but I am open to suggestions.

No changes to anything. stock armor, ammo, and engine. only thing allowed to change is the skills.

Tips, suggestions, feel free to leave them. I will start tomorrow.

Wait, so do you mean that you won't change their loadout at all (single heatsinks and all), and you won't spend experience, or just no changing the gear?

Because if you're not going to even spend exp, that's one hell of a challenge.

I will Not change the loadout, will skill it them up though.

If I could run a stock locust 1E, you can do this too.

I already mastered the locusts or I would have, save myself the cash.

I'll be honest, the only reason I'm doing this is because I don't wanna spend all the c-bills to fix them up, and have no plans to buy the mastery bundle.

You know, I always advocate slight modifications.

My current favorite mech, is my AS7-S that's running 3025 era tech as a slightly modified AS7-D.

4mlash 1ac10 1lrm10, 1srm6, ammo and single heatsinks to taste.

I average 500-800 damage a match with 3 kills. It's great watching Direwolves die to a 3025 tech mech. And the challenge of making 3025 tech work in the given timeframe. I even have a 3025 era drop deck for CW that doesn't do half bad.

It makes you very judicious with your shots, and makes you pick your fights with a bit more care on hotter maps. It teaches firing control and makes you spread as much damage as you can.

It's really quite a bit of fun. And still allows for customization while keeping the mech within it's intended role.

I'm curious to know if anyone else would be willing to join in the challenge. master a chassis without changing the loadout, using it completely stock. skilling is fine.

I've done that with "3rd variant" mechs I didn't intend to keep, most recently VND 1X, but never for 3 variants. SHS are so bad that I forget how bad they are between uses. I just figure I must have been imagining them being that useless until I run them again... :P

Are you going to let yourself reallocate armor away from the silly amounts they have it set at?

Yeah In this case personally I'd re-allocate the armor myself. and at least keep the weaponry the same and all. But I gotta respect Brody's dedication to doing everything bone stock... talk about hard mode.

I do this with every Clan mech, might do it with the IS mechs after finishing the current Clan Mech's available even. Stock Clan omnis are actually pretty crazy/fun/amusing to play and I see the IS stocks as a sort of 'hard mode' as the clan mechs run DHS stock anyways, so the heat especially isn't as hard of a hit.

I'll be honest with you people. up till around...December, I left armor stock (like 20 armor on the back of several mechs), and wouldn't buy engines. So rolling near stock isn't entirely new to me.
