Do we know much about the various mission parameters? I am worried that team vs team matches without a capture the flag objective will result in team A setting up in a standard 'snipe nest' and team b doing the same - resulting in niether team really taking any initiative and simply trying to draw the other into unfavorable locations. Once the layouts of the maps are known I would hate to see the battles degenerate into 2 teams using the same terrain the same way every time...

I think we default with one base for each team that can be captured.

A team of cowards hauled up on some highground wont be effective.
Artillery, air strikes, naval bombardments and predator drones (all command skills) will make quick work of any team that doesn't move.
Not to mention the good old long range firesupport with LRM 15's en 20's.
Other than that, from the gameplay video and trailers we've seen there's some sort of a 'base objective' in play that can be captured by the other team to win.
