War, I tened to use 6xcSRM 6 with 4cERML as back up, set the cSRM to chain fire, and go wreck things. I've had this build beat dual AC 20 King Crabs that have gotten the jump on me. Just have to stay mobile, and have steady aim.

Its got freakin 60 tons. Ofc it wont perform as good as other heavier Heavy Classes. More tons = more armor limit, more place for firepower.
MDD is, always was, and hopefully always will be one of the most fragile Clan Heavy Omnis in BT universe.
^ Reason why you cant fight head on, in front tiers, where the first to be engaged are taking the most damage.
Its got one unique asset, thanks to which i think its a decent viable mech for CW (watch it, CW, nothing competitive unless you are forced by restrictions of league/tournament you participate in). And that is 6 missile slots.
6x SRM6 with artemis, hiding and pushing behind, using all the cover you can get to slip closer wihout being focused (hiding behind pushing assaults works, ability to move trhough terrain in case you really are decent, or at least experienced)
6x LRM5 with artemis at medium range causes nice constant screensshakes. It literally tears the mechs appart, if you use the LRMs well.
As a comp player, i was always opposed (before CW implementation) to LRM usage.
But MDD's got great potential of becomming nr1 LRM support mech, especially to those 6 Missile slots, and high mounted cockpit, which comes handy when lurming. All you need is expose yourself just a little in order to see behind the mounatin you hide behind, and then lrm the shizz out of 'em.
So yeah at this point, i dont agree with you. L2p

The MDD is actually my 2nd worse clan mech. Barely 1 kdr, I always seem to lose the side torsos so easily on it. Trying to spread damage from the CT is like just asking to give up your side torsos.
By comparison my nova is my 2nd best clan mech out of the handful I own with a 3.5 kdr on the 2 novas I own. Finished #4 in the chassis challenge with it. And few people will say this is a good mech. I'm actually starting to like this thing and take it over my Timberwolf more and more!
Just can't seem to find a build I really like on the MDD and consistently do well in.

well, you are a better palyer than me, you should be able to squeeze out more of the MDD's
mine are those:
MDD-Prime: 2.21 k/d
Maybe more interesting with some CERML instead of the SPL's for more midrange capabilities.
Or 5CERSL and 2 more DHS.
MDD-A 1.69 k/d
well lrm's suck, but the build is fun to play, more fun than efficient at all
MDD-B 2.25 k/d
sure the TBR is a lot betetr but it's not that ahrd doing good in a MDD. Juts give it more time, as said twisting works different in it and it neds more time getting used to this.
