Youtube screenshot, sry for the quality.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but why do I not have those particle effects? Those sparks after the laser hit the Dragon. I cranked up my settings on 64 bit and Dx11. Is there any user.cfg command I need to put in?

Might be a minor issue but I really like those particles. :P

there is a particles setting in graphics options, have you turned that up to high?

I believe this is correct. In one of his videos, Sean/Phil says what he has his client set to and he does turn down several of the options. I'll update this post if I find the video with the settings.

Found it. It's at the start of this one.

Thats my problem. I have set everything on "very high". That's why I'm wondering why I don't have those sparks.

Those sparks are from his Gauss firing I believe.

Or at least, I get sparks like that consistently from Gauss (and only from Gauss) firing or hitting something

Beat me to it. Those definitely aren't laser damage. Looks like he took a gauss slug in the lower torso-legs area.

It's definitely not a Gauss shot. Thats the same scene. No gauss in sight.
Watch on 720p and you see those sparks: http://youtu.be/BdpTQ8M8e_M?t=4m3s

I almost feel bad for mentioning such a trifle. :P

Were lasers meant to have sparks? i thought they only made the affected parts glow.

Try turning your particle effects down to medium, certain effects look different, one example being the PPCs.

The 'sparks' happen at high settings, it makes for good ambiance.

Sry Spike Brave, missed your edit. And yes, particles on low and you get those bigger, nicer looking sparks. Who would have known that "low" would be the setting.

@Lordred: There is a whole lot of Photoshop included to get those screenshots, or am I wrong? Because the game itself looks nowhere near as good as it does on those pictures.

Thank you everyone for your help. ;)

Note to self: try setting this to low...

There is post editing done yes, but only to color ballance, white and black points, and sharpness.

So, only light touchups.
