But I joined up once, around the start of last year, but had to leave, because of family emergency going on,and this was the only time I could be back and relax after what has been.
But my question concerns profiles and how to change your profile avatar? I have been searcing for yonks now but I cannot seem to be able to put the Capellan Confederation avatar up in my profile (not to mention a short description of myself) so I was wondering, would anyone be so kind as to tell me how to do those things?
And sorry, I know how much of a pain in the rear end it is when it comes to 'nooby' questions like this, so I hope you will not judge me.
I will introduce myself in the introduction thread ) I think it is still there) otherwise, because I am a loyal Capellan, you will find me on Sun Tzu's forum thread quite a bit.
Any help wuld be appreciated, since my long abcese, I have forgotten even the basics or the message board/ forums, not to mention that once being a top of the line Crab pilot, I feel like a green recruit again.
Still, once I get everything up and running and start learning the game if there is anyone who wants to join up and show me the ropes, I would forever be in your debt.

First about the faction icon. It is now part of the ingame faction warfare loyalty, so you can't chose it on the forum.
You will have to click on "Faction" ingame and choose a contract.
If you are die-hard Liao loyalist, you can choose permanent contract, but canceling such a contract is way more expensive than a shorter one. (its free if you wait until your contract runs out, like e.g. a 7 day contract)
The description for the forum can be set if you clock on the "Profile" at the top right of the forum.
Then select "Forum profile" and then "Edit profile" button.
Here you can set certain fields and also click the "Edit my about me page" button.

Ah right, thanks for that, mate, I guess a lot must have changed since i was last here playing, where you could pick your faction pretty much off the bat. Well, if that is the case nowadays, then I will start playing without being in the Liao camp, but will consider myself one until I am can get the avatar image (whatever you want to call it) in my profile.
After watching NGNG for the last 4 months, I found there's a lot of different things in the game now, just something i will have to get used to, but that is never hard to do.
Thanks for your help mate, I appreciate it.

Reno pretty much covered that one.

I actually do that a fair bit (send me a in game invite!)
Gets a bit trickier since my headset died, but I can still help out with it.
I tend to specialize more in teaching how to take damage than most other skills - but I can teach the basics.

Cheers, mate, I might take you up on that offer, once i finally have the game finished installing aas well as the patches.
I used to play, about 4-5 months after the game came out, but because of family emergencies, I had to stop, and i fear now I have to relearn a lot of things, so hopefully it will not take me very long to get the hang of the controls and the game again, but first, I might do best to read up on some of the dev posts see what's new while I have been away and hopefully be able to adapt quickly or all my 'Mechs will be turned into glowing piles of molten slag before I can even move haha.
Thank the gods there's the practice hall area you can use first to sharpen your skills and get the hang of the controls again.
Thanks a lot, both of you, for helping me out, much appreciated
