Private matches have a min and max tonnage based on the group. Now obviously if something like this was implimented it would only be available to the 12 mans as logistics would not allow that kind of pug communication to set this up in the min before a drop. Not to mention the likelyhood of having too many divas that will only pilot 100 ton mechs in their drop decks delaying que times. Thats why I get the idea of individual drop deck limits.

However organized units running 12 player groups could have that ironed out in advance and que in with a team tonnage set. Instead of minimum and maximum tonnages forcing players to play weight classes they dislike they could stick to their strengths and allow other players to stick to thiers.

Maybe its just because I am a light pilot and I feel obligated to bring 240 tons of crap I suck in instead of 100 to 150 tons of stuff I am good at. I would rather the guy who is good at piloting the turtle be able to bring more of them.

Then again probally a moot points because as is there are only 4 mech chassis in the game that are allowed in CW right now :P

Well Cementi I can say for one I am happy with minimum tonnages considering the 2 wave IS light rush on certain maps is even a viable tactic against skilled and competent 12 mans

Not saying get rid of the minimum tonnage, just would be nice to have team based tonnage instead so you could stay in chassis you are comfortable with and allow others to stick in theirs. As I said would only work for full 12 mans.
