Why didn't they change the icon? It had unique value for a specific event... Is everything special about our past support going to be recycled?

they never said it was unique and onetime and so on, it was just a challenge price, nothing more. now you can get a second one.
It doesn't say "I was there at launch!", it says "24" - not more, not less.

Throwing it out there again is just a slap in the face to those who wish to hang the original with pride. I don't hang those things because they give me vertigo, but I can see where they should be different.

All I had to do was just show up for 24 matches, win, loose, or draw.
This time I got to really work for it.

So few people equip cockpit items anyway and even fewer will see them for the ones that do. So this little hanging trinket you feel makes you so special, maybe 1% of the people who were ever in matches with you ever saw it.
Still feel special?

What's the point of special bling if you're just gonna re-release it later when you feel like it?

I'd also like to get my hands on some of the fancy cockpit items.. But I completely agree with Vassago that making them available later cheapens them. I also think that the impetus to play/buy/whatever, for promo reward items, is hugely reduced, when you can be pretty sure you'll have another chance to win them at some later date. Loyalty mechs are a perfect example.

That's why you just use the free ones they give you and stick it in some mech you're playing at the time! It's even better then if you don't use it for a while then come back and be like eyyy hula girl what's happenin.

Yeah, there is a certain sense of pride of being on the ground floor of something. Yes there should be something that distinguishes early adopters who took a chance and supported the development of this game.
But hen I am responding to people who do not, or act like they do not, or think it I cool to act like they do not, care or appreciate anything. I am happy that you have joined us, but don't try and diminish the fact that your ability to play now Is based upon my playing then.
