At one time there was like a 20~something gigabyte folder you could copy to a portable drive and move the game to wherever without having to re-download it, but I can't find that folder. All I can find now is a 6gb folder at this address:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online

Is that the right one?

Yes. it should contain a "MechWarrior Online" and a "MWO Update" folder. Size should be 6,67gb.
Just copying the whole Piranha Games Folder on an USB Drive and then on my Computer worked perfectly fine ;) (Win 7, Home Professional, 64bit)

You should also have a user folder here:
%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\MechWarrior Online

If you have a user.cfg file or want to make sure that your settings transfer as well, you'll need those files too.

this one will be created if you launch the games once (of course meaning you'll start with the standard settings and NO user.cfg in the main dir - I was a bit spooked when starting the first Pug match in 3rd person  ).

Correct! It will be created if it doesn't exist.

If it exists, because he copied it, with the old files in it, he will keep his settings and user.cfg adjustments.

There are two things you need to do to move MWO around via the flash drive method. 1 is simply have the MWO directory. The second is have the directx runtime so that directx is up to date. I see too many people try to move the MWO directory to a new computer and get the xinput.dll file error and blame MWO when actually this is because you don't have the up to date directx installed.

Greetings all,

Yes, there are numerous 'other' requirements to 'just moving MWO' to another computer.

As stated, Dx files need to be complete for MWO to start, both Dx9c and Dx11.
net Framework and C++ installs need to be updated or latest available.
- as a note here, the 'test server version' has the Dx files included in there own folder. Not included in the standard version, why not?

Just some info,
9ered
