Spider D can be used for its ECM, Jenners will get a CT QUIRK(the horror)/ etc/etc/etc
Thuds were extinct...now they aint. PGI will just rotate quirks to bring chassis in and out of fashion until more role warfare happens(soon...)

Apparently you don't care that the amount of mechs that aren't used anymore beacuse of quirks is more than the amount of used quirked mechs ... Thunderbolt must be your favorite mech or smth.

View PostInspectorG, on 20 February 2015 - 03:57 PM, said:

Your crybaby argument is silly.
There were few choices before, more now except at HIGH LEVELS OF PLAY- BECAUSE: EFFICIENCY

If you aren't on "high levels of play" you don't care about efficiency. People used, use and will use Hunchbacks because they like Hunchbacks regardless of if the mech is crap or not, not because of quirks. High levels of play meta pool only decreased thanks to quirks. You can delude yourself all you want, there aren't any more choices anywhere, only less.

View PostInspectorG, on 20 February 2015 - 03:57 PM, said:

Any high level of play is gonna have fewer choices, unless those choices arent that different from each other.
Why cant you comprehend this? CW is 'hardmode' for MWO...you are only gonna see the best performers. Just like any other PvP game.

LMAO ... CW? "Hardmode"? Like when MM puts a competitive 12-man vs half-trial-mechs team? Yeah, right ...

Sorry, but as I said, I don't care about anything outside of highest levels of play, because outside of these said levels people don't play to win, they play for fun, and they used, use and will use all and any mechs regardless of what current meta is. As I said before, only people who benefit from quirks and defend quirks are those whos favorite mechs got the best quirks.

View PostInspectorG, on 20 February 2015 - 03:57 PM, said:

How many Commandos, Dragons, Quickdraws, Hunchbacks/etc did you see in the early tournaments???
Why was that?

First heavy tournament was won by a Muromets, and I'm sure there was at least three Hunchbacks in top 10 mediums, whats your point?

View PostInspectorG, on 20 February 2015 - 03:57 PM, said:

How many do you see in Puglandia and mid level team drops? More.

As many as usual. Baddies who can't play for crap but think they can swapped old meta for a new meta. The rest use same mechs they always did.

View PostInspectorG, on 20 February 2015 - 03:57 PM, said:

General play, aka Puglandia, you can use a lot more mechs and loadouts. But not any, as you seem to think.

Well, I'm not an expert on the underhive like you.

View PostInspectorG, on 20 February 2015 - 03:57 PM, said:

Tell me how pre quirk HBK-GI had the same DPS/Alpha as the H, Cicada B as the A, /ETC/ETC...

It had as much DPS and as much alpha as you build it to have. You can do same builds on GI you can build on G, H, etc.

How many top tier chars in Street Fighter 4? 6
Smash Bros Brawl? 2
World of Tanks? 6
Blood Bowl teams? about 3-4 depending on format

LOL ... how does THAT is any relevant to MWO?

View PostInspectorG, on 20 February 2015 - 03:57 PM, said:

See a pattern? Go ahead and research some other PvP games, see the proportion of tier 1 chars. Ill put money on average it will be few.

The fact that devs can't balance mechs in MWO or whatever else in other games properly doesn't mean they should follow the idiotic quirks this and that idea.

View PostInspectorG, on 20 February 2015 - 03:57 PM, said:

As far as more loadouts and variety before quirks?

List them.

All kinds of combinations of energy and ballistic weapons on Thunderbolts and Cataphracts for starters. Brawler builds on Orions. Multiple ballistic combos on Jagermechs. The very same Grid Iron you seem to like so much had about five different builds instead of one it has now.

View PostInspectorG, on 20 February 2015 - 03:57 PM, said:

As far as HBK-J as a 'LRM brawler', thats how i use it. 400m out from the action poking with the lasers and lobbing dirty missiles at prime targets that need hurt.I dont like LRMs but thats the only way i like using them.
If you have a better definition...

I don't. Dictionary has.

P.S. Business Pro tip: PGI will keep changing the meta...so plan your future QQ.

I don't give a damn, especially about your underhive opinions. Only people whos gonna QQ are noobs who get roflstomped by 12 Thunderbolt-Firestarter premades in CW.

If you are leet comp meta tryhard why you QQ so much then?

You would be the same person QQing if they made all mechs viable at 'top levels of play' cuz they would have to be all the same.

I bet you QQ about always having the same pieces when you play chess.

You dont care about underhive? Thats understandable.

But dont be so dense to think that you will see 'variety' at the leet supercomp tippy top of pro gamers white tower you call home.

Seriously, go find another game with a big variety of comp choices(good luck)...
Comp MWO has a handful of similar maps, few objectives, FEW meta strategies.
Therefore: few viable builds at 'tryhard compland'

Down in the underhive there are more viable builds cuz quirks can make a 5E Cicada as good or better than a 6E Cicada. A HBK G as good as/better than the H /ETC/ETC

Your QQ is gonna confuse the other underhivers into complaining about 'diversity' or something.
If your soo leet, at least QQ like a leet...in silence.

Such a well thought post really. Repeating yourself for like 7th time. Wonder if you even know what QQ stands for?

I'm sure I don't need to remind you that it wasn't I who started the topic, nor anywhere in this topic did I ask for removal of quirks or anything alike. As I said, at this point I don't give a damn.

Just like I don't give a damn about clueless noobs like yourself trying to prove their point when they don't have any point, nor any knowledge of what is going on.

But please, keep posting the same idiocy over and over.

With out Quirks what is the point of IC mechs?

Clan Mechs are, despite the "assurance" from PGI, better than IC mechs.

I get that the people who bought Clan Mechs are Pay-To-Win people, but I never realized that they were willing to kill the game to win the last match.

I think the mods should lock this one as its mainly turning into troll/countertroll by Phoenix and InspectorG

The thread has outlived its usefulness

This thread is quite hilarious...

The top-tier comps complained vehemently that their selection of viable mechs through the meta-filter was boring them to death. PGI quirks the underdogs to establish some sense of parity and equity and now they complain that too many mechs are now viable...

Just play as if quirks wouldnt exist.

Works for me. Dont care about them at all and dont include them in any build investigation I do.

There are like 5 IS mechs viable for league play at the moment.

You were crying in reply to my posts about only having a tiny number of 'viable' mechs in your leet CW.

I guess i wont post any more until you address any of the points i made, if you even care to.

Several other ways of balancing were suggested, that did not require arbitrary mech quirking and would have allowed people to play any mech they wanted and be properly matched by MM.

I've "addressed" all your points in my first post in this topic, way before you even started posting here. But apparently reading the previous posts in the thread before posting yourself is lostech.

I agree quirks were likely not intended from the start and more of a band-aid...thats fairly apparent to me.

A scam to sell more mechs? I dont really buy that. Were IGP still in the scene....maybe. PGI has seemed to be doing better and more up front so that view is kinda tin foil, imo.

Hey, BV would be cool but what metric are they gonna base it on? Things in BT dont act the same way in MWO.
An LBX is likely far more valuable in BT than MWO for just based on to-hit mechanics and crit mechanics, for example.
Does PGI have the resources to go through the data to pick the trends to figure a BV system? I would say not at present.
If quirks are any indication, quirks are based of of some alpha/DPS number per weightclass. Seems to be about the only thought they put into it. Im fine with it so far. Sad to see the Wubverine go, but such is life. Something else will replace it.

As I said, they have all the stats on how each chassis performs on average.

Sure it is better to screw over all their players with poor MM / mech balance... Its really just a question of willingness to balance the game and do the right thing.
