This needs looking at ASAP. Not only is it being forced upon us, some people may even get a performance hit off of it. And, on by default? REALLY? Some people don't go to the forums and read this stuff-imagine the amount of match chat spam "How I turn off voip????!!!!"

really? Its not being forced on anyone! You dont want it, go turn it off! This has been ASKED for now for a long time so we can actually TRY and communicate with each other and work as a team. I guess some will never want to play as a team in a team based game right?

Lol, the ON1-M gets a 40% cooldown redcution to lBX and 25% missle cooldown. Looking at some of the Orions I think they might be gaining some popularity.

Anyone know how big this patch is? Mine just ate up about 5 gigs while patching, then told me I don't have enough space...there's still over 3 gigs left on that drive...so an 8g+ patch, is that right?

If so, I'll make some space, but damn, that seems huge for a patch, especially if that's all VOIP I'm never, ever going to use...

Fun patch! Probably won't be running the Panther too often, because Steiner, but I could drop in yon Enforcer. Still holding two months of Premium Time, but I'm holding it until the Zeus drops.

ingame VoIP will seperate the playerbase in 3 groups.

Group 1: those who want to use VoIP to coordinate the team to increase the chance to win. ~15% of players

Group 2: those who will use VoIP to troll/insult others otherwise just abuse it. without any way to directly report it (unlike faction Chat). ~5% of players

Group 3: People who don't want to get their Ears filled with the sh*t the comes out of Group 2' mouth and turn off VoIP altogether. ~ the rest of the players.

result: Group 1 effort will be in vain as pretty much no one will hear them/answer them.

and that's why we can't have nice things

Well I'd be group 3 for the stated reason, and then the fact that they say it eats CPU. I just got the point of playable FPS after they tweaked some settings last time, I can't afford to have any drops for any reason.

Hearing some jackass troll at the cost of my FPS is in no way worth it.

I hope this is not the same drive you use for your operating system.

Please always leave 10 to 20 % of all your drives for the filesystem. For example for defragmentation. Your drive will thank you with a better performance and a longer lifetime if you do.

The patch comes as a single package and needs some space on the drive. It will need to be extracted, before it is applied to the game files and therfore needs even more space then the download indicates.

AFAIK, the autoshotty quirk for the ON1-M has been in-game since the first quirk pass. Using it with a trio of SRM launchers is vicious and should be even moreso now that they've received an even bigger buff.

So wait PGI nerfed the hell out of every useful CW mech and buffed the **** out of every useless mech in CW? Well GG, I hope the Clans have fun on terra, it's not like House Davion, Steiner (who allied with the Clans against the IS), and Liao help fight the clans anyway.

Take the only mechs who could stand against the Clans and nerfed them, trying to make more mechs viable against the Clans by nerfing the ones that already were. I know they want a wider variety of IS mechs to play in CW but as an FRR loyalist we need more players defending against the clans, maps that don't so heavily buff the Clans, and weapons that do damage when you hit the enemy.
