Why won't my improved zoom work?

I unlocked it with my 5000 XP, went into the Mechlab and purchased it for 2M c-bills (and watched my account get debitted), equipped it on my Adder-Prime (definitely shows there when I look at details).

Yet my zoom in-game is the same as it always has been. What did I do wrong? And if this isn't going to work is there any way to get that two million back somehow?

You probably need to push a seperate key in order to get it to work.

For me it is V. Check your keyboard controls in game to see what it is.

Check your in-game key mapping. By default, advanced zoom uses the "V" key instead of "Z" to zoom. It should be listed under "Activate advanced zoom" or something like that in the settings > keyboard menu.

Give "V" a try, see if that works!

(Edit: Got ninja'd twice :D )

That got me too for awhile, It was because you're supposed to toggle the advanced zoom on/off and then, you have a fourth stage of zoom with the lens looking overlay (it works quite well actually with ERL lasers!! )

In addition, while the 'V' key toggles Advanced Zoom on and off you can use the 'Z' key while Advanced Zoom is enabled to toggle it off as well.

In other words the 'Z' key can function as an 'off' button for Advanced Zoom but not as an 'on' button.
