At the launch party, it was mentioned that mercs can one day buy their own dropships. I was thinking about the implications and how it could help vs spawn camping.

Okay here is my ridiculous idea for customized dropships.

• A dropship may be purchased by the Merc Unit
  
• Dropships vary in size, hardpoints, and cost.
  
• Each hardpoint may be adjusted by an officer and acts just like a mech in the mechbay.
  
• Normal mech weapons may be fit to the dropship's hardpoints.
  
• Faction-specific weapons may be added, unlocked through loyalty, purchased via merc unit coffers.
  
• If a merc unit drops 4 into CW, then their dropship carries them in and is now considered to be in the game.
  
• When a member of the merc unit respawns, their dropship carries them in, complete with whatever weapon systems are on it.
  
• Give us an AC/20!

Bonus idea:

• Let the merc unit play an approved song over the enemy's comms (BAGPIPES!)
  
• Dropship can have camo, colors applied just like mechs.
  
• Custom graffiti (per player) on the bay door seen before being dropped.
