I understand that everyone needs to take a break now and then, but taking nearly a month off was a horrible decision. If development work is continuing behind the scenes, we need to know about it. Otherwise this game won't survive on autopilot. Progress has been much too slow for that.
PGI and IGP, if you ever wonder why the number of players isn't higher, add this to the list.

progress takes time and a bit more while dealing with Cryengine 3, which is also under testing itself.
they're still hiring people who have the skillsets they need and are willing to pay quite a bit if you can show them you have what they want/need.
there are also other issues, but manpower is what they lack.

I know this stuff takes a lot of time to engineer and I understand a lack of development resources has probably slowed them down significantly.
Those are both understandable, but having no official updates or real communications on development efforts for almost a month is not. That being said, understandable or not, this has probably turned a fair number of people away from MWO and just added another nail in the coffin.

You do know most people playing MWO do not visit the forums for updates. The number of people that this would turn away is very small overall.

Silence does not mean people are not working. And sometimes it is needed to take a step back and start making the necessary changes to see a project succeed.

Since when is two weeks a month? What reality do you live in?
The last update in the command chair was Dec 23. A lot of good companies give their employees a two week break around the Christmas Holidays, its not like they're working at Walmart. I can't remember the last place I worked where the company didn't shut down for two weeks. They'll be back to work on Monday.

And I doubt they took a whole month off. I'm sure a week for each member across the 4 week period meaning they may have been running on a skeleton crew for a month, but no one may have taken a whole month off. Having said that, with people gone, progress will be slower and removing themselves from the responsibilities of a patch deadline removed a lot of stress.
They deserve their week off and their other three weeks of light duty. They're prolly back to full throttle now and getting ready for the patch next week (hopefully) or the week after.
