Over all the different games I've played over the years, I think EU edges it over the US. There's not a lot in it though.

But then asian > all.

Hey printer/scanner/copier! I think your assessment is a tad bias.

Now that I'm thinking of it, I have noticed that EU players tend to be less inclined to work together as cohesively as people in the US timezone.

Oh yes.....I think the same Pantera ! And their thinking is better than in europe. More cohesion. I'm in a US-Clan and I really really like it. Awesome friendship, amazing community, fantastic mech warriors! If I play in my timeshift like now.....I have to play with a lot of real noobs. But hey.....exceptions included !!! There are always really good guys like the 9th guys for example !
So...I think yes, there are more good gamers in north america (maybe beause there are the most players), but also in other countries in the whole world....
.....don't forget Austria :P

According to the chat, there are a lot more "fnk noobs", "****** players", "cowards" and "fail teams" during the NA prime time, so most american players have to be very, very bad actually. :)

Well, i'm just kidding, there is no real "skill difference" between NA/EU, although personal experience may be different.

Hey, thanks guys for the replies!

Among the many excellent opinions that have been mentioned, two are particularly interesting for me to note. One, is that NA players group/blob up better, which I also mentioned in my original post. And two, that the NA player base is bigger, which effect is that the players are uniformly on your level so the matches become naturally "hard". I have to play more in the morgen if possible just to make sure.

BTW I just remember that Mcgral18 was there on the winning team. Are you an elite player Mr. Mcgral?

thats funny. When I play during the times when most Euro folks are playing I find it WAY harder than the peak USA times.

There's a gigantic skill gap, especially between NA and EU groups. The best EU groups can only reach the skill level of the average NA groups. There are some exceptions, but they are extremely rare. Playing in Euro trash time is a lesson in frustration.

I'm curious if the reverse is true for north American players.

Well sadly it is true, when I play any game online in the early morning against EU players it is usually easier, I think its just because we are very competetive over here, but the UK players are also very competetive, so it just depeds what group you are up against.
No offence to EU players, hell I wish we could be as chill as you guys!

I live in Europe and when I play in the morning (evening on the other side of the globe) against two-digits-ping players, the matches are usually harder.

I have to be honest, the "markets" are indeed filled with different play styles. When I play in the morning (with evening EU players), I see the Heavy/assault queues filled to the max. They tend to wait for something to happen, and **** bricks when something unexpected happens. In the evening people are much more independent & adventurous and take most surprises in stride. This is reflected in their choice of mobile mechs instead of raw DAKKA.

From talking with people who don't live in North America (not just non-US), I'd have to say it's something to do with government-created culture. The USA is all about free thinking, while I hear story after story of how people act like ants/lemmings in other countries/cultures. I'm saying this doesn't come from biased media, it's coming from observations from people living that life. I'd have to say the lack of free speech leads to people who will ignore virtually any inconvenient truth.

We say: "It may be massively corrupt & ineffective, but DAMMIT it's MY COUNTRY!"
They say: "They do what they have to do for the improvement of Mother [country name]!"

PUGing it in the non-CW que during Euro-prime time, less teamwork and more solo suicide charges. CW, MORE teamwork and less sucide charges, the competative Euro players don't do a lot of non-CW in my experience.

PUGing it in the non-CW que during NA-prime time, more teamwork, less suicide charges. CW, about the same, not as serious about winning as the Euro teams are but still organized even in a PUG CW drop.

Euro players who are team oriented tend to join the organized teams in Europe, NA, specifically American players who are team oriented often don't bother to join a team, real life doesn't give them the free time to commit to a team but they do enjoy the teamwork aspect of the game, so you see it more in the PUGs....sometimes ;)

I think that numbers matter.

I remember that with mw4 I went to a meeting with all comp. players of my country..... and I found 20-25 people :)
NA is 10 times bigger, so, yes, NA comp, players should have been 25*10=250 (more or less) in that meeting, and even more playing.
