Some Ideas To Improve The Spider 5V With

Despite it being fun to play with (25w/16l on this), much booing is given to it. The main thing with this Spider is its lack of customisability. Even trying to mount a TAG takes away half of your firepower.

Seeing as how certain mechs got a bit of help in terms of additional AMS slot despite lacking AMS stock, it got me thinking what this mech could receive to just give it a bit more options.

1. Additional AMS slot - this would give it a little more value and also make it the anti-missile spider besides Anansi. Tradeoff? You gonna lose some weight to put it on although that shouldnt be difficult.

2. General energy quirks instead of being specific. This opens up the quirks to its already limited choice.

3. Maybe a TAG-only hardpoint in the head or an arm? So that it wont need to sacrifice an energy hardpoint.

Bonus. 4. ECM. Not necessary, but will be interesting. It will be the fastest jump-capable mech with ECM.

- 3 AMS slots.
- General Energy quirks
- Recharges JJ's while in the air

It's got a rather general energy quirk now. So that's one down for either of us. :)

Given only 2 energy mounts in the CT no ammount of quirks will put it on par with other lights - even a locust handily out guns it. Without adding additional hard points there's pretty much nothing that will make the mech perform as well as other lights - or even other spiders. All it's good for is distracting the enemy and drawing enemy fire.
