"Is this some sort of cruel joke" - I thought when I first looked at the mech. It's coloring suggested that it might have walked straight out a shroom-induced lucid dream.

So, I thought - hey, they made it on purpose! So normal people would have to spend mc's on repainting it!
Shortly after I discovered I could paint the mech with the free default military green hue.

I discovered something else: by mixing the shroom-paint and the army paint, a smooth and kinda good-looking coloring can be achieved. This is how it's done:

On a side note: what do you think of this brawler I made out of this mech? Is it viable?

I encountered a brawler just like yours yesterday on new mordor in my splat cent... Let's just say this, blackjacks aren'd made for brawling at all. You can't run away, you can't keep up and you can't fight it out.

You can even kite these short range black jacks which is kinda fun, I lurmed one to death in a lurm jenner, from 300 meters. He gave up and tried to hide in the end. So I'm not sure this variant will be any good at all.

For the color, I only got the hellby and there it looks good with dark blue/green colors. Stock colors is clown mech camo.

I feel your pain: It's the first time I've received a loyalty mechs and they have probabily the worst loyalty camos ever...

It's not awful, I suppose. I'm running 2 ML and 4 SRM4 with a std 235 engine. I stick close to the heavies/assaults and work it like a skirmisher/harasser while the bad guys are focusing on a more threatening target. Sort of how I play my urbies. It's certainly not as good as the 1X due to engine cap, but the SRM's make it pretty good at peeking/poking. Just got 4 kills on grim plexus with it - normally 1 kill per match.
I'm thinking of trying it as a ranged support mech with ERLL or PPC with a couple LRM 5 or 10's tomorrow.

The colors of the loyalty mechs seem to me like somebody took a paint job, and applied a "negative" filter to it, making it blaring and loud.

Unfortunately, I got a blackjack on my "Clan account" instead of my "IS account", so I will maaaaaybe basic it, and then store it away under some nylon and moth balls.

To bad you can't gift such things to a different account..

If it can't go over 80 kph, then it's not a brawler. Unless it's an Atlas, because the Atlas gets a free pass.

Also, you're missing armour on torsos. Never strip armour from torsos. Strip the arms when you aren't be putting weapons in them, strip the head because you won't be trading (brawlers less likely to get cockpit'd), and maybe strip the legs (because nobody pug queue shoots legs).

And another thing - I don't advise using SRM6 without artemis. It might be dealing damage in numbers, but the damage is spreading to different components and not very effective at killing mechs. The optimal range for SRM6 without artemis is 70m or less. Add artemis and you get ~100m. More ranges here: http://i.imgur.com/4MMkgHI.png

Possible builds:

4x SRM4 + 2x MPL ---------- 5.0t ammo --------- XL235, yes Endo --------- 2 JJ ------- 14 DHS
4x SRM4 + 2x LL ------------- 4.0t ammo --------- XL225, yes Endo ------- 1 JJ -------- 10 DHS

4x SRM4+A + 2x ML -------- 4.5t ammo --------- XL235, yes Endo --------- 1 JJ -------- 12 DHS

4x SRM2 + 2x LPL ----------- 4.5t ammo --------- XL225, yes Endo --------1 JJ -------- 10 DHS

4x SRM6+A --------------------- 5.0t ammo --------- XL235, yes Endo --------- 1 JJ ------- 12 DHS
4x SRM4+A --------------------- 5.5t ammo -------- STD230, yes Endo ------ 1 JJ -------- 11 DHS
4x SRM4 ------------------------- 5.0t ammo --------- XL235, no Endo --------- 2 JJ -------- 16 DHS

If it has arms, strip the head to 8 and max arms. If it doesn't use arms, strip head to 16 and zero on arms.

I would ask. That sounds like the type of situation that support would be willing to adjust for you. Just make sure your email includes some way of immediately identifying you as the owner of both accounts, otherwise they might ignore the request on the basis of "too much work to look into whether or not he actually owns both accounts himself".

It is too bad that I am unable to sell Loyalty mechs. A couple of them are not even worth the mechbays they are sitting in. Posted Image

I'm sure you'd be able to get rid of them, if you contacted Support.
Who knows, you might even end up keeping the empty mechbays

Yes they will remove unwanted and unsellable content. Strip the mech, put in the request to support. Wait a week or so and viola: no crap mech and you have extra equipment and mech bays (yes they let you keep the mech bay).

I was thinking about the 2 LPL build for this mech but I am not convinced about the SRM2... I'll try to fit 3/4 SRM4.
Need to thinker with the lab...

The base paint job is horrible, but the camo scheme is actually pretty nice. Some cool effect are possible by changing the colors.

I only did a minimal load out change. Added ES and upgraded the SSRM2s to SRM4s, that's it. Doesn't seem too bad, has the high laser mounts for sniping and decent back up weapons for when it becomes a brawl...and it was a lot cheaper than dropping in a new engine.

Of course there are a lot of more extreme more meta ways to spec this baby out, but this works for the moment.

Love this little mech. And I like the "loud" paintjob.

I drive it as a bomber:

And in the "common" version:

When I heard PGI was giving me a free BJ, I became really excited.

Mmmmmmm..... yes

But this BJ has teeth, painful but pleasurable as it's like a mini Griffin 4N without the ECM. Bad positioning, will lead to bad results. However, good positioning with a BJ will lead to some satisfaction.

Mmmmmmm..... yes

Really don't understand the dislike of either this 'mech's camo or it's stats.

Camo wise, play with the colors, surely you can find something kinda cool. If you really can't stand it, spend 75 MC on a one shot camo. If you don't want to do that, just paint it all one color.

Stats wise, it's a Griffin 2N without ECM and 10 tons lighter. It's super redundant as hell, but it's hardly trash. Hell, if you play CW, you might even like it.
