Marik Attack On Athenry

Kurita has had multiple requests to not fight on their is borders and focus on the clans. They declined all of them until they were no longer populous enough and their enemies bulked back up, now they want to start closing fronts and fighting the clans.
The problem now is that too many worlds lost, too much good will burned and no basis for trust. Much of Davion seems like it's more willing to see Kurita burn than make a treaty based on "or else". Marik? Up to them. It would be stupid to assume that if big mercs go csj again and Davion gets its groove back Kurita wouldn't attack Marik.
When Davion does reach out for a treaty we'll see how Kurita responds then. For Marik to give up an opportunity to attack Kurita when Kurita is vulnerable would be to completely ignore all the lessons that Kurita has been teaching. It will bite them later.

Well we've made our official response, Marik can take it however they like. The DCMS will not be the ones to strike first, but we are more than willing to abandon all other fronts to fight only Marik if need be. It's nice that MischiefSC can interject with his opinion and advice that will benefit Davion most though. If there was a full-scale war between Marik and Kurita, Davion could happily and easily scoop up planets from both factions without much resistance.
We've now offered both Davion and Marik a chance at peace through a position of strength (Davion still getting rolled by us and Marik has no attack lane), if the "Star League" is truly interested in focusing on clans here is their opportunity.

Nothing will benefit Davion sane Davion putting the effort into GIT GUD and bringing some prodigal sons home.
Kurita already had repeated chances to close other fronts and roll north. They declined them to spend time taking the wormhole worlds and a bunch more Davion worlds. Then when cgb and csj bulked up and started making a ruckus now DCMS wants those treaties. So Kurita made gains against Davion and Mariks wormhole until it starts to fade, then wants to cement those gains by saying "wait wait, didn't we all want to fight the clans?"
We did and to a degree still do. If Davion sends you an olive branch after pushing way back north and Marik works through you to cgb you still going to want to talk?
This is nothing about clans or nSL. Kurita wants to lock down gains and get help from the people they've been face punching and trash talking.

We don't expect Davion or Marik to actually help us against CGB or CSJ but at the very least not having to expend resources to fight Davion and Marik will allow us to push back more against CSJ. We've already shifted our focus to be primarily against CSJ at this time.
Any aggression from Marik will be met in kind. If you want to burn the Inner Sphere to the ground we are happy to comply.

Davion: Can't accept that you took planets; the borders are unacceptible. We need to lose more worlds and make the borders even less acceptable, then we'll talk about peace.
Marik: Can't accept that you didn't coddle and stroke our egos at every turn. We are outraged that you only thanked us once, instead of twice, for every single time Marik ever dropped on a clan front. And you should have done everything the way we wanted it, not the way you wanted it. Which mostly means you should have let us keep 12+ planets in Kurita space indefinitely. Maybe if the peace offering included ten more compliments and acknowledged we're superior in every way and thanked us for every thing we've done... We wouldn't call the peace offering pompous and arrogant.

In any case, Kurita is always happy for a fight whether it be against the Clans or against Marik.

At least NKVA comes up with original, sometimes funny material. Using fake quotations is such a desperate form of forum PvP.

What in the world are you talking about? Kurita's clan fronts are moving slower than they have since December. Yes, they're still bleeding worlds, but it's nothing like the 3-6 planet per day hemorrhage they were going through a month ago. Trust me - unlike the Davions, I was actually there. I still hold the unit tags on the Arkab Legion's homeworld.
It's not Clan pressure behind the Kuritans' willingness to talk. If anything, I would venture to guess that victory against the Clans seems much more feasible to a sufficiently buffed Kurita than it did a few weeks ago and distractions on their Southern border have become just that - distractions.
