If Marik is truly proud of backstabbing a longstanding ally and getting nothing to show for it, it should be easy to label who the leaders are that authorized or voted for it. If it was one person acting alone or a cabal that did it against the wishes of the rest of Marik (it certainly doesn't seem to be anything that was communicated to the rank and file) I think this can be smoothed over.

If people in their HC look at what's happened tonight and how much fallout and drama there's been and really want to keep going at it then making it official for everyone wouldn't hurt. They'll be taking on a huge black mark on their reputation as being completely untrustworthy, but that's their decision.
