Davion was terrible about that. Marik won that one in the end. Steiner had some mercs who helped them punch Marik for a while. Eventually Marik won that one too.

This one isn't a hard one to call in the long run. Marik will learn your tactics and just keep getting better. You'll talk trash, make some early games, and they'll just keep grinding and refining. Then they'll pick up steam and roll through you to CGB and CSJ.

Calling it right now -

That will be the point at which things start to slow down.

Davion managed to win on 3 major fighting fronts for about a month. People start to burn out and tempers flare and disagreements start to split stuff up and drama happens. Not that Kurita and Davion are a fair comparison but in terms of how it will play out?

Couple weeks and Marik will be rolling Kurita back daily and Kurita will start to have internal issues.

Because for all the hot air, the simple fact is that no one goes back on their word faster than Kurita. Ikka managed it just over the span of the post you quoted! That might almost be a record.

These are the people who used Davion's good faith during the nSL negotiations to slam them as hard as they could while dithering about in "making a decision" on said negotiation, which was basically just their way of milking Davion's good faith gestures to maintain ceasefire.

Ikka speaks as though we had some kind of alliance we broke, but there was never an alliance. That implies a two-way relationship, and yet, Kurita has never done a single, solitary thing for us, and has taken advantage of everything we've given them by using it to strike back at our allies.

Our relationship was never anything more than charity for which we've been bitten back as thanks at every step of the way. I think the only one that's ever actually benefited from this relationship are the Clans.


I see a couple jubilant Clanners in here, but the truth is nothing will really change for the Clans. Kurita will go from not defending against them to... not defending against them.


Now, I had hoped we'd have made a formal declaration here beforehand. Such a document had been in the works when I left for work earlier today. I truly do apologize to Kurita that we pulled a Kurita here.

Pretty sure they're trying to take control of that area, so that when your migration south is over the clans don't get to Terra.
