Rhaythe was telling me that PGI is looking at adding in the code needed to eventually add in a PvE element to the game. That's awesome! This is the foundation needed to add a single player campaign to the game, but I'm hoping this goes a bit further and we can do co-op campaigns. Imagine running any of the missions from previous Mechwarrior titles, but instead of your lance mates being AI bots, they're your actual buddies!
I'm stoked for it. And I hope ya'll are too.

I would say at a minimum that PGI will require both players to have premium time to do such a thing, just like private lobbies. But yes, I would like to see a single player campaign.

Does PGI have the rights to previous iterations of MW? It would be cool and save PGI time if they recreate missions from there.

no, that defeats the object of f2p doesnt it? if they brought it out as a full boxed game with single and co-op modes with a fixed version of the currant game for the PvP side, then id buy it. but spending X amount PER DAY to play? no thanks.
personally i would only put money down on something like this if it was also offline capable, so that i could do the campaign solo when the servers are playing up. but thats just me.
I am a big supporter of the solo/co-op campaign idea, but to me its something any game should have by default... not tacked on later to be charged for.
That said, im old fashioned like that.

I'd be alright with buying the mode as a DLC expansion. Perhaps it could pull our existing mechs over with different challenge modes such as time challenges or drop weight limits. Ooo, random thought, perhaps a dark souls type mechanic where players could invade other players games to throw a random element into the battle.
