You really cant fire back against quirked dragon..your being rocked, heavily damaged really quick and blinded by the blasts.....

You can actually as a regular 1N pilot if you bother to use improved gyro's or don't let them fire continuously on you. It's arm should always be your target.

Yes it was an amazing individual performance.

But, yes, it also demonstrates a serious problem with CW and matchmaking.

Flame away, but matchmaking is keeping people away from CW.

CW should be a beacon to bring people in to this game and grow it for the benefit of everyone - it is supposed to be the killer feature we have all been waiting for after all.

I tried deparately to get in to CW, but as a PUG I was matched time and time again in a team of individuals against solid 12 mans.

I gave up.

Unfortunately the reaction from many players to this has been:

"man up"
"stay out of CW, it's for groups - your not welcome"
"cry more pug"

Unfortunately such sentiments will ultimately be self defeating if the game is unable to provide a welcome environment for new player growth.

I think perhaps we need less conflicts available at once - perhaps a single planet under contention at any one time.

This will allow the pool of players to be large enough to support better group matching and Elo.

Wtf I've had zero issue playing with groups in CW, maybe Smoke jags just have some good clans then, I'm always on Stranamechty using TS3 if I have any of the guys in there. Good fun and zero issues dropping solo, group of us pugs beat a 10 man even before VOIP was in game.

Hilarious, other two lances combined did only 445 more damage than this guy. Also, Malfrost must have dropped in Catapult-A1 or something. :)

just did some math, those two LORD players outdamaged enemy team by about 1000 dmg.

What was your drop deck, Coburn?

Malfrost was in a Raven 3L. He was front and center covering the advance with his ECM the entire time. I was in a Grid, covering the base from leakers for the entire match. I got some action when lights tried to destroy the objective, but by and large I was just walking in circles watching the kill feed and listening to radio chatter.

He was indeed in four Dragons. At the end of the round, Coburn said he had raked in 1.6 million c-bills.

Also, I should mention I was a solo drop. We're all FRR, but it wasn't a group.

I play CW damn near exclusively BECAUSE there is no matchmaker.

Not to mention the player pool isn't CLOSE to large enough for the public queue, not even close. I started another account recently and I was seeing major unit tags ...comp team unit tags.....while I still had the cadet bonus.

Its true, CSJ pugs are the best that I have seen in the game. That through the ...what 6 factions I've been in now.

you missed a good opportunity to change the meta to something whacky here Coburn
everyone wants to know what crazy drop deck you used
you could of told them anything you want and everyone would of copied it for at least a few days
then the pugs would copy it cause everyone else is doing it and that means there must be something to it right ?!

nice job on a stellar match
must of had so many clutch moments

the screen looks like it was, I mean the cockpit is the one of a dragon isn't it?

a single AC 5 has a dps of 3.0 and a dragon with 2 Ac5's quirked, well. thats 7,5 dps. So he does not need constant enemy contact for this, half the game would be enough.

so the loadout would definately be interesting, but I would say smells like 4x dragon

DRG-1N with 2x AC5 puts out 18dps.

yeah I just added 50% which of course is not right, LOL. embarassing math fail here. xD

but still hmm?

wait, what, given we say its 2 Ac 5's, then a dragon quirked AC 5 shoots every 0,9 secs (or does 2x 25% damage not stack this way?). and so an single ac is 5.55 dps, which means 11.1 dps with 2 AC's yeah still a lot more than my firts failmath did, and how much dps the laser brings up, not sure because of heatgeneration and coolign down stuff.

anyways, the Ac's alone need only 8minutes of enemy contact to rack up 5400 dmg. quite doable, thats only 2 minutes battletime in enemy contact per Dragon. if the drgaon cockpit from inside would not be that ugly, I would have bought a dragon already before the quirkening happened, it looks kinda cool as a mech, but from inside, It gives me more a "trucker" feeling than a mechwarrior feeling. Could not seriously play this mech simply by this small detail tbh.

you see a drgaon cockpit in his screen, and so its very likely since he is a min maxer, that his other mechs have been dragons as well. and people who were there xD

he made professional killstealing and damage stealing in a single match.

and Honestly I alwas wondered why the IS is yet not doind 12 dragon rushes all day. But I kept this question for me, because this would be pain in the butt.

Low arm weapon mounts and all the firepower in 1 arm. The classic Wolverine-6K problem: It's great until you fight a decent/good team, then they shoot off the arm, ignore you, and move on to the next target. If you don't eject they'll clean you up later. Except the Dragon also has a big nose/worse hitboxes than the Wolverine, making it easier to core should it turn to protect the arm.

But when the stars align and the enemies have a hard to firing back, let alone have the ability to aim at a single component, and the rest of your team doesn't kill them first (important factor), great things can happen. Not to take away from the OP, but it is what it is.

you cna in a drgaon even role in and shield the arm by being twisted in 90% then when you come into range, your high dps are enough to be a horrible dps cannon before your arm blows off.

He didn't get this damage alone, his team put him in the position to do this, much like 1K+ Locusts would not be if a good pilot kept the player at bay during the match.

12 mans vs solo in CW, it's just feed for them, especially for better 12 man teams.

Sorry for being the party pooper.
