Liao in the 4th Succession War was being pressured into that state, and the only reason there's a state now is that ultimately, Davion took too big of a bite and was (much as the present day) unable to chew it up fast enough to finish the job.

Negative. The reason the 4th Succession War ended was because Comstar went "Oh noes the Davion Steiner thing is going to crush the rest of the IS we have to stop it!" and then they set up things to make it look like a Davion unit destroyed a HPG so they could hit the entire Federated Suns with an Interdiction.

Comstar would also stop the FedCom from defeating Kurita in 3039 by supplying Kurita with a bunch of mechs, some of which had full Star League parts.

Glad to be able to satisfy your curiosity. But it seems that you already knew this.

You said a week. I provided him the contact information for getting in touch AFFS Command and spoke to them about it myself. We didn't know Marik and Kurita were about to kick it off and regardless it has nothing to do with opening a dialog with Kurita.

That's why I said 'before'. At the time you'd posted your comment there had been no new dialog I knew of (not that one may not of happened I wasn't aware of. I'm not part of AFFS Command) other than the one I stated. You'd Implied there had been one, in fact that there had been a conversation for over a week prior to the Marik/Davion one. Or at least that's how I read your post.

There was nothing secret about this. CrockDaddy made a polite PM to me with some legit questions and I have the deepest respect for his intentions in it. I replied immediately and carried that info forward to the appropriate people. That was like the day before the Marik/Kurita fight started.

Nothing 'secret' there. He just wanted to open a dialog and contacted me to help start it. You were implying there had been this week long secret negotiation going on and that it was prior to big events. This wasn't that.

You're such a tease Davers. I thought there was this secret political stuff going on and was actually rather excited about it - I'd love for CW to be more than group queue with a map.

He does. I dropped with them on Friday Night Clam Chowda. It's a bit awkward to hear at first but it grows on you and has a charm all its own.

Of course, nobody officially knows that at this point, but yes. That interdiction was part of why the FedCom suffered a sudden choking fit trying to digest Liao.

Meanwhile:

Day 71: Combine takes two Davion worlds, loses one.
Day 72: Peaceful Marik-Davion alliance continues as Marik trades worlds, Kurita takes one, and Liao takes two.

Small bites. Nibble, nibble, nibble.

Thank you for pointing out the fact we were doing this before the Marik incident, and I certainly don't accuse you of having anything to do with convincing certain individuals to instigate their attack. Our ( NS ) matches against you on the border have always been pleasant and respectful games.

And you raised a good point somewhere about the chest puffing on all sides being caused by a slightly skewed perspective of how all the matches play out. I have reached rank 14 off of merc contract (NS is kurita-loyal mercs in the lore) levels of loyalty points, and 95% of those matches I've dropped in consisted of at least a three-quarters make-up of NS, NKVA, ARKB, or 11th and 36th guys from our EU division. Our losses against anyone, be it premades or pugs or IS or clan, are very few and far between.

But just this morning I was dropping against a premade on the CGB front with a group that only consisted of about 5 or 6 players from the above mentioned units, and a slew of others mixed in. When not everyone in the drop knows what they are doing and cooperates/coordinates even though they are in TS... lets just say it was a very frustrating experience for a select few of us, and the match we lost ultimately resulted in the loss of planet Sulafat.

I commend your fortitude for all those late nights you kept dropping against us with only 4-6 of your guys and a bunch of pugs to fill in the gaps

Got to love the short sightedness of the Fedrat. Sits on the forums and ******* and cries about how House Kurita doesnt fight clanners, then goes and blitzes us while we have 6 12 mans attacking the Jags. Well I hope you enjoy getting your face stomped into the ground more then you already have, and i eagerly await to read all your future posts on how we dont handle our northern border.

Marik and Davion, the 2 factors preventing the IS from stopping the clans.

I personally am overjoyed that the idiocy of Davion fedrats has given us an excuse to continue to smash their faces into the dirt. It's the weekend so effortless, leisurely Dav stomps are an exellent way to spend the night.

Now you know how it feels. We fight clans, Kurita and Liao attack. We start defending and you conveniently 'defend against the clans'. I guess you might actually fight the clans, there is a first time for everything. Your northern border does not show any of this claimed 'defense'.

It is just nice to know what the nSL and Davion really wants, and it isn't Kurita fighting the clans.

lol. The last thing i want is a scrub like you that cannot even read, dropping on our border in defense. Davion cant hold a single planet for a single day, nor have they for the last 40 days, come queue up and get squashed because your Command Council has its head up the Purple Pigeons rear end.

Should of taken the ceasefire that was offered. You have NO one to blame but yourself for whats to follow.

we maxed out omagh, which could have ONLY been done by us, and we were in fact in the process of knocking down yardley (which was at 100% before we went do it, got it down into the 70s for a bit) when we were attacked. obviously we are now focused back on the davion border instead of finishing off the clans. yardley is now going back up and even omagh is getting brought down. it is what it is, apparently neither davion nor their allies marik truly care about the clan border or defending terra or they would have at least allowed this to happen and see where it went. it is unfortunate though not completely surprising that it was declined. oh well, time to feast on davion. oh, and there is no going back. trust has been utterly and irrevocably broken. see you guys on robinson :)

Well, at least we received a formal "shove off" before we had 48 people show up attacking our planet. Respect for that, at least. How did my boots taste, HHoD and BP?

Now we have 2 clans trying to reach Terra through DCMS space and the 2 largest IS factions wanting to wipe us out completely. All I see are C-bills, C-bills everywhere :)

As Davions officially scoffed off our attempts at a ceasefire, let me be the first to say Thank you. It is great to be able to continue farming Davion Scumrats, as it is easy, efficient, and downright enjoyable. It seems that Davion is more interested in fighting within the sphere than allowing DCMS to fight the clans. We showed you tonight that even if you zerg our planets, we can both defend and attack the Davion border and win convincingly.

While our stent on the clan border was fun (The constant QQ that IS mechs are too OP was amusing [see http://mwomercs.com/...ng-out-of-hand/ ]), it is sad to see it end. I made a good bit of C-Bills fighting the dirty kitties, but alas all good things must come to an end. I shall enjoy reaping the Federated Suns, or more commonly known as Fedrats, riches and planets in the name of the good Coordinator.

In conclusion, die clanners!
