Perhaps this has been answered (a forum search turned up nothing).

Will MWO support Trackir?

In the Q&A FAQ they are asked the question but kind of dodge it too. Basically stating that when they get to that point in the coding they will look into it. So keep your fingers crossed, I think having that or a similar technology will be awesome for immersion.
