So my base is being attacked. I'm there defending and my turrets are up shooting lasers and missiles at the enemy.
If I pop a UAV there, will it in any way improve the way my base turrets attack, same as it does for my team mechs?

UAV will cut through ECM and detect enemy mechs within it's radius. It doesn't improve the performance of anyone or anything.

By "improving performance" I mean will its normal advantages be shared with the base turrets, same as it does with my team.

There are no advantages. Think about it.
If a turret has LOS on a target (it has an unobstructed view), it will shoot that target, assuming it's in range. If a turret doesn't have LOS (it's view is obstructed), it won't shoot, regardless of whether it detects the target via a UAV or not.

So is the question, can turrets get LOS from UAVs?

I think it's a question of whether a UAV defeats ECM for a turret?

How can a UAV get LOS for a turret? Turrets have no indirect fire weapons. It doesn't matter if the turret can detect an enemy out of LOS, it can't attack that enemy. Thus the wording of "obstruction" in my previous response.
As far as ECM goes, that is irrelevant to turrets per Patch Notes from January 20th:

- Enemy ECM no longer affects turrets.

Must be in the pub queue, I haven't seen any indirect turrets in CW.

LRM turrets will only fire at you if they can see you. I've done enough basecapping with my lights to know as much.
Some additional info, turrets open when a target is within line of sight and within a certain range ( 400M or so ) and the turret will stay open until the target leaves that range. Once a turret starts opening it loses it's damage reduction, sufficiently powerful mechs can use the time it takes to open to take out the turret without it firing at them. LRMs from turrets can also be blocked by terrain quite easily if you have a reasonably fast mech, dodging them doesn't seem to work though.

This is true
There was a time when they would fire at you if you were within range
(With mixed reports on whether they needed a spotter or not...)
But as stated by a couple of people now, they will not fire unless they themselves have LOS
