Yea 8 days is a joke. We had a month or more per pack for pre order bonus content with previous packs. 8 days notice is just insane and money grabbing.

If they extended it that far then it wouldn't be early adoption.

Urbanmech early order bonus didn't get much warning, either. And this early adopter bonus is only because they don't have the concept art done yet. It's a way of rewarding people who take the plunge sight unseen.

Sadly, though, I already went through all of this months ago, when the Wave 2 pack was announced. You can see all of the valid arguments here: http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__3851666
Here is the jist of it, though...

When it comes to Hero and Champion mechs, that is thrown out the window because it is a straight tonnage-to-MC conversion. 75 MC per ton. Loadout does not matter, at all.
When it comes to Packages, it is also thrown out the window because, like Heroes and Champions, the equipment in them does not get considered. The only thing that matters is the price PGI sets for it, which in this case is $20 for IS and $30 for Clan.
Unfortunately, in a supply/demand world, we are at PGIs mercy on all of them. That does not mean the prices are right, and I do agree with you that the package prices should be equal because the technology has been equaled. To offset the cost decrease of the Clan packs, they can just increase the cost of the IS packs, making them BOTH $25/tier.
Now, the current packs are not going to be changed - it is far too late for that to happen, since the IS pack was created JUST to allow IS pilots to get the King Crab without having to purchase Clan mechs.
Future packs, though, should be equal in cost/tier.
.....
package pricing has ZERO to do with the mechs and equipment in them.
For instance, the cost of the Locust Project Phoenix Tier (1) is +$20. 60 tons at ~4.5 million cbills, or $0.33/ton
Compared to cost of the Battlemaster Project Phoenix Tier (4) is +$20. 255 tons at ~22.5 million cbills, or $0.07/ton
That is just within the Project Phoenix package, which has a very light Assault mech at only 85 tons.

Sorry PGI, I've paid for the top tier of every release package to date (except for the Founders pack, which I missed), and will most likely buy the top tier of this one too (begrudgingly so, since, as a lore hound, you're really pushing my buttons a bit with this one and the inclusion of TRO 3058 mechs ), but truly, that's just too much money, too close together, for a whole damn lot of us that play this game, I think.
I'm sure I'm not even remotely the only one with this opinion.

So saving me a minimum of 1,200,000 (In DHS ALONE) cbills compared to the (R ) packs is no reason to charge more?
To say nothing of Endo, Ferro, or (GASP!) XL engines?
Good to know!
Edit:
HELL MAN
The Wave 3's light mech engines double that on their own!
Totally NO reason to charge more for that mech though!
Edited edit:
Just realized I had my math wrong there!
The light mech's engines add up to 12,000,000 not 1,200,00!
Should TOTALLY cost the same as the Panther!
Pay for less grind people!

IS packs have mechs with XL engines and other "advanced tech" as well. Light mechs (regardless of pack) cost the exact same as Assault mechs (regardless of pack). Quit being so bullheaded and look at the actual facts of the pricing...please.

WAH
WAH
You are TOTALLY right.
The TWO mechs the ® pack got with DHS (3m saved)
The ONE with an XL (4m saved)
The ONE with Endo (350k saved)
And the TWO with Ferro (one of which is probably going to need to pay extra to take it off)
Rough total saved so far:
7,350,000
Make the IS pack need NO MORE upgrading and extra Cbills than the CW3's
12 with DHS (16 with early buy) (18-24m saved)
12 with FF (16 with early buy)
12 with XL engines (16 with early buy and ignoring balance between clan and IS engines)
9 with Endo (12 with early buy)
Rough total saved so far
18,000,000
to
24,000,000
On DHS ALONE
Yup
You have convinced me!
Should TOTALLY be the same price there
Edit: Added prices

I buy and play both sides mechs
They cut the price and I benefit just as much as you do.
(Could be argued I benefit MORE since I play both sides)
Does not mean (under ANY circumstances) that as it stands now
There is no reason for them to charge so much.
Edit:
At least until the IS start coming with all the upgrades the Clanners do.

Not exactly.
After an extended period saying that any mech with MASC was DOA, they have obviously decided to give the Clans the system. However, if you read the FAQ, you will see the following:
"Myomer Acceleration Signal Circuitry is still in the design phase. It is unlikely that the implementation of M.A.S.C. in MechWarrior Online will be a 1:1 translation of standard M.A.S.C mechanics. Exact details on how M.A.S.C will function will be provided in a later update."
So, we do not know how it will work, and indeed, the Devs seem to not know at this point. The only thing that is likely is that it will perform differently from how it is supposed to work.

Different teams. Just like in MWO. The 500$ team is akin to the Oilers while the 750$ is akin to the Blackhawks. One is more in-demand than the other and will be able to sell more tickets and thus naturally from a financial standpoint it makes more sense to charge more for the Blackhawks tickets because that team has more fans willing to pay the bigger $ because they are a good team. The Oilers sell their tickets for less because their team is not that good and the fans do not enjoy the games. By reducing the price, they hope to get money by enticing people to buy them at the lower price.
There is literally no reason to reduce price on the clan packs if people want to pay that. If people didn't, we wouldn't be here complaining about it because the prices would be reduced or the packages would not be made available like they are now.
Ancient Demise, on 20 February 2015 - 08:27 PM, said:
No, they won't. You and the other guy whining about it are evident of that. Hell, I did not buy a Resistance package. People will buy what they want. Period. If they have the $ then they will do it.
The only thing that PGI needs to do is stop throwing packages at us. We've had what? 3 mech packs tossed our way in 2-3 months? People cannot keep that sort of $ spending up. If anything you should be complaining about the spacing of the packages. They need to be spaced out to allow for people to breath between packages. For Blakes sake, we only have half the resistance package available to us now and already we have the Urbanmech and the Wave 3 stuff on the table.
Ancient Demise, on 20 February 2015 - 08:27 PM, said:
Now you are just being petty. And you wonder why PGI doesn't pay attention to your opinions on the matter?

Unless I am reading you wrong.
Camo works in two ways
Either full chassis unlock permanently (for any variants you now own or ever will own)
Temp Unlock (one individual chassis until you change it)
All camo from the packs has always been the full chassis unlock
So unless PGI says otherwise it is safe to assume that the faction camo will be the same
Phoenix camo was - and from what I have seen the other Clan Camo was as well
So the faction camo should cover the bonus variants.
I had only asked because the Mad Dog was not considered part of the Wave II pack, it was considered an added bonus, so you were not able to put faction camo on it without unlocking it for 1500 MC. Also, the King Crab is not considered part of the Resistance pack and you will not be able to put the Resistance pack faction camo on it unless you unlock it for MC (when the camo is available for MC). It was not a stretch of the imagination to assume that the "early adopter" bonus variants may not have been considered to be part of the wave III pack, although it was confirmed that the faction camo which you will get with the Wave III package is going to be useable on the "early adopter" variants.

THAT makes more sense
The bonus mechs for this one (ACH-C, SHC-P, EBJ-C, and EXE-D) are extra variants, rather than a whole new mech chassis being added (Like the King Crab from the Resistance paint-preview)
They should be covered the same way that the LCT-1E and the like were for the Phoenix package - and for the same reason.
IE: These 4 are not special geometry versions - they are just extra variants being given as a bonus for ordering early - so unless I am wrong and they ARE special geometry - you will be able to paint them like normal
Once they add paints TO them anyways

Agreed. I actually first noticed this with the recent round of faction sales. Kurita sale! Davion Sale! MarikLiaoSteinersaleCLANMECHSALEWEAPONMODULESALESSSS
Yeah, C-bills instead of cash. Same basic issue, though - I ran out of C-bills waaaay before I was able to take any real advantage of the weapon module sale. I got one or two modules, couldn't afford anything else. Who can grind that much?

Was hoping the Executioner would have an eye cockpit like the Atlas, but the thing looks so ridiculously spot on that I can't even be disappointed. Sooooo getting one...
Also, I was really thrown for a loop when I saw the other three mechs. Was expecting a Firemoth and Viper to round out the TRO 3050. Not complaining, but certainly surprised.

Just so you can know for certain. It has been clarified that faction camos WILL be applicable to the Early Adopter variants(no need to worry about being wrong any longer!):
