I know the keyboard+mouse control layout has been explained but will you be able to use others controls. I use the Saitek X-52 and I sure hope i get to use it in MWO

Well, given the number of times it's been asked, there's a fair number of us who're going to be using the X-52 - the pro in my case...
It should be supported, apparently.

Thank you for the response. I looked around the forums a little and didnt see any discussion of it. I dont have the pro but I truly do love my X-52. I think shes getting a bit worn out. I got it while I was in Iraq so its been through quite a lot.

I really want to use mine, but I can't get over the accuracy loss that a mouse will give. I'll have to play with both (if it's supported), but the pro in me will probably go with mouse+nostromo just so I can get the crosshairs where I want them instantly.

I would hope so. Looking forward to using my Logitech G940 (throttle, stick and pedals). I really can't see it being mouse and keyboard only control.

If support isn't built in initial release due to time contraints I'd bet it wouldn't be long until a variety of controllers were supported.

I'm probably going to cry if I can't use my x52 pro >>; seriously.... I just might....

I figured everyone used joystick AND mouse to play...
I don't see why they wouldn't support it.

LEt's not forget Thrustmaster support. Have to think a Throttle, joystick and ruddersd would be a good control option for this game. Never played it b4, so we'll see.

Here is a Q&A entry that can be found in the Q&A link from the front page.
Q. Will MechWarrior have support for custom mapping joysticks/other input devices? (multiple device support?)
A. We have partnered with some of the industry’s biggest hardware manufacturers and will be doing our best to support all types of joysticks and flight systems.

I certainly would think it would be supported. Even if I mainly use mouse and keyboard I plan on getting a nice control set up. But as Kumakichi: "If support isn't built in initial release due to time constraints I'd bet it wouldn't be long until a variety of controllers were supported."

Given that razer has already stated they are doing a custom I wouldn't worry. The biggest "issue" I'd say is it vs a mouse. Joysticks were a losing battle once mouse support happened in the prior games, just the nature of the beast.

Also, back in Mechwarrior 3 and 4 supported Joysticks with throttle control. So I'm going to say yes on this qustion, plus I need to get one myself
