You have advanced target decay. I have radar derp. Who wins?

Derp cuts the Decay in half. So Decay only has 1.5 sec instead of 3, or what ever it is.

it depends on the Mechs used, load out of the Mechs, player skill and the rest of the team.

while Radar Deprivation is usualy a better module than Advanced Target Decay a LRM Mech should always have Advanced Target Decay (and preferably also BAP) while a fast Mech will usualy want Radar Deprivation.

The modules themselves mean little.

I'm thinking purely in mechanics.
Radar Derp kills targeting instantly.
Target Decay extends targeting to 3.5 seconds.

These two cannot exist at the same time, just like BAP and ECM conflict (though thats more obvious.)

Does targeting lock end when line of sight is lost (RDep), 3 seconds later (ATDecay), or a compromise between the two, as Coralld suggests?

Radar derp is worded with wrong implications. It kills the lock instantly if someone with LoS does not have adv. decay, i.e. it subtracts the time a lock usually has until it decay by that exact amount. Adv. decay will still add it's extended dercay time though.

my experience seems to be this.

Raderp breaks lock that normally would be retained for a little while afterwards.

Target decay extends that decay time.

Without the extended retained lock, only the adv target decay remains, effectively shortening the whole lock.

That plus ECM drives me buggy.

They cancel each other out.

So you won't lose target instantly if you have target decay and someone with radar deprivation runs behind a hill, but you don't get the bonus. It's like neither of you have any modules.

Radar Depr.----->The defensive module for the offensive platform above 75kph. Memorize corners and junctions, and places where u can shelter from the "rain". Use it to effectively run from one to the other every time u need it.
Target Decay--->The base of any lock missile based mech, either LRM or Streak, also the doom of any light or semi-light mech in the 100kph range. Works best for giving a bit of offensive capabilities to normally really defensive mechs, like LRM-boats.

Player's Brain--->Less slotted module. When slotted it gives ur team 75% chances to win. Need at least 8 of them slotted in the team to work. Usually passed out in favour of SSRM2 cooldown. Someone else will mount it...
