I am only four days on this game, so I was wondering if anyone (especially from the Capellan Confederacy) if nyone would want to be my friend -- oin g,e nd help me master my' mech's more in a fight as well as what the 'Mech I hould buy - a heavy or medium, but has t have jump jets and ane lrm +artemis lrm's.

I would also like to equip an AMS system to the best, so does anyone know which 'Mech I should go for next in owing?

It doesn't matter who you drop with faction wise unless its Community Warfare (CW), and sense you are only 4 days into the game, I'd highly recommend that you don't do CW.

As for the type of mech you are looking for, a Heavy or Medium with LRM and is JJ capable, I'd have to say the Catapults for the Heavy and Griffon for the Medium.
Sorry, I have no build for these guys as I do not have them, currently still grinding out to finish my Atlases, King Crabs, and Mad Dogs.

With that being said, there is a site called "Smurfy" where you can check out all the mechs and tweek them to your hearts content.

Nearly every mech can equip AMS, the sole exception is the X5, the Cicada hero mech which is available only for ( premium currency ) . You can find the available options for all mech variants on http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/

Mornin' comrade. Weapons can be switched out, so the only real concern is does it have "missile" hardpoints (they are light blue and look like 3 angled missiles) and does it have the ability to mount jumpjets?

That said, I usually like to direct players to 50 or 55 ton mechs as solid starter mechs. This leaves the Trebuchet, the not-yet-released Enforcer and in the 55 ton category you have the Shadowhawk, the Griffin and the Wolverine.

Of the later three, the Wolverine is a solid mech but it is better suited for brawling, its missile ports are limited to 10 tubes each with the highest count being 3 missile hardpoints. The Shadowhawk also has a mostly 10 tube limit (except the head, which has a 5 tube limit) but in turn it has up to 4 missile hardpoints. Then there is the Griffin which has a 20 tube limit for the first launcher and 10 tube limits for the rest. It also goes up to 4 missile hardpoints.

The Griffin combines the jumping strength of the Wolverine with the missile hardpoint strength of the Shadowhawk, while giving you a the best open-space cockpit you can get on an Inner Sphere BattleMech.

I personally run my Griffin with an LRM 20 + Artemis, 3 Streak-2s, a tag and a laser and I use it as a mobile missile platform and light hunter.

Welcome to MWO, and yes I added you.

Just in case you don't already know, you need 3 mechs to master them.

Complete basic on 3 variants of a chassis to unlock elite.
Example : Hunchback 4P, 4SP and 4G to clear basic and unlock elite.

Complete elite on 3 chassis to unlock master.
Example 1 : Hunchback 4P, 4SP and 4G to clear elite and unlock master.
Example 2 : 1 Hunchback, 1 Centurion and 1 Griffin to clear elite and unlock master. (This means clear basic on 3 Hunchbacks, 3 Centurions and 3 Griffins)
