360 Controllers don't have nearly enough buttons. I don't think the combat controls would work very well, let alone the UI.

Amazing 5.4 Million Downloads! Goes to show what can happen when a Community is embraced instead of over charged and nerfed to death with every patch. But I would still rather command Battlemechs in the old MSN Mechwarrior Gaming Network than drive WWII tanks. Until That day!

Their XBox, Android and iOS franchises have taken off recently, but PC numbers at least on the US server seems to have gone down a bit.

It is probable that War Thunder Ground Forces are gradually eating their lunch.

Ahmurica!

it has taken PGI a lot longer to complete goals, so to implement all the extra additions it would take enough time that the engines would be out of date, so as PGI currently works could never manage that.

personally i would love combined arms, particularly so if your arms can be deployed using any kind of AI... even better if you can command them in game! but pre-planning movements would be more then enough, heck even "go to waypoint" would be fine. i believe it would work best as a resource bought and gained from planets, but again that is... a lot more too much work for PGI.

aerofighters alone could be really interesting, but the space fighter market does have a lot of current, competitive games right now.

I am not sure combined arms is a good idea. In War Thunder which has combined arms, people get enraged in their tanks getting bombed. If same thing happens on Mechwarrior, I am sure people will not be happy.

well, mechs can do a lot more to aircraft, also i would personally like the units to be bots.

If its Mechwarrior Battlemechs trying to shoot down World War 2 aircraft, your most viable weapons would be AC2, UAC/2 and UAC/5. Then mount 4 of them in an arrangement in a mech that can support 4 ballistic hardpoints, like a Jagermech. Your mech will also need a serious lead in targeting indicator.

We already had a combined arms mechwarrior.

Tanks, various combat vehicles, VTOLs, aerotech, mechs, power armor.

If Mechwarrior is going to use a combined arms team, we still have a long ways to go. As for a simplified controller, I don't think it will work very well with our Mechs. In older console games, yes, but MWO is far more advanced than Battletech 3050.

MWO works pretty well on a controller, actually. It's not advanced at all.

This is how a part of joint warfare in War Thunder looks like. This was in the dev server, with AA tanks going against bombers.
