I believe it is caused by your que looking something like this.

Did you look at the que before dropping in the game?

if Yes, you knew what was coming. you know there are 11 solos in que, that in CW solos can be matched vs full premade.

if no, that was your mistake and you should always consider looking at the que before hitting the "defend" or "attack" button

If you were the first person in que and had 11 other solos join... I would honestly consider hitting cancel button if the number of solos starts geting around 9-10. but again that requires watching the que

What exactly is the problem? The 11 other guys with no unit tag?

Sir Homie de clown,

C doesn't necessary mean Trail mech, C stands for cookie or champion mech.

I started CW with 3/4 trial mechs; couple days of that and I had enough Cbills to be 3/4 my own mechs. They work just fine.

Gotta start somewhere.

The free mechs available to new pilots could use some work, though.

I swing both ways. And I have played a few games testing trials in both Clan and IS in CW. Some work very well, and are close to builds that I would run myself. Others are rather poor. No joke, just straight up feedback. Trials are not the best way to go for getting new players into CW though. I would rather see new players given excellent rewards so that they can bring 3-4 solid mechs to the fight that they have been able to alter and fit out as they wish.

A closed Beta Veteran qq'ing about current trial mechs and the clans all at once? How easily you forget the trials of old. Compared to the old trial mechs these machines are godly.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...ab#i=92&l=stock I'd like to see the build that this is godly compared to.

Easily done....this is the old stock loadout of the mech you picked when used as a trial before they changed to Champion Trials -

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...26f62c0584ad45c

Just the shift in Single to Double heatsinks alone completely change the usefulness of a trial. However, to be fair, you did pick one of the worst mechs period. Even double heatsinks don't save it. But the point is, compared to how the mech used to come as trial it is almost always night and day. Many Champion IS mechs are quite useful.

C stands for Champion, as Jacob said.

People do buy C mechs or win them in challenges sometimes. Why not use it?

Well, my thinking is:

If you lasted longer than their remaining time to a ghost drop plus ~3 minutes, you have already achieved more CW-wise than a no-show would have. Plus, the players will hopefully have learned something and - a man can dream - maybe had a little fun playing the game.

I'm more concerned that some of these players will be frustrated at the crushing defeats they experience and throw the towel.

In MegaMekNET, whose strategic game was a bit similar to MWO's, there were different types of "CW" matches: Raids and Conquests. Before you reached a certain play time you could only do raids. (Simplifying things here.) Maybe such a game type would also be a good idea for MWO, but you would need some sort of reward for them that would help your house in a way other than gaining planets. Unfortunately, MWO does not offer anything that would fit such a role. (MMNET had 'Mech parts for production.) Maybe house-wide discounts on some stuff based on the raiding performance of one week?
