I use 2 erppcs on the resistance version. I would say that its playable other than I personally dislike all weapons on one arm, plus sub150kph speed

Spider has ecm so it will always be a better sniper.

I havent had that much time to play or grind my panthers with work and all, but to me it is EXACTLY like the way I use to play my 4X raven way back in closed beta days when the raven first came out, ERPPC and jumpjets only this time round the panther is a somewhat smaller target that jumps better and has better quirks.

The non resistance ones tho I aint really liking so far as they just dont feel unique at all, 4 energy and one missile is meh to me and the 3 large laser thing is just a fun derp mech but not hardcore useful or anything.

I am primary a medium mech pilot, and have sold off all my light mechs except the jenner.
But the Panther simply clicks with my play style and I have been having fun in them.

My PNT-10K is armed with an ERPPC for long range hit, and a MPL and ASRM4 for close range and heat management.

The PNT-8Z is a range supported with 2x LL and 2x LRM5, with the missile cooldown quirk you can almost chainspam those LRM5s.

PNT-9R as an odd ball brawler/harasser with 4x ML and SRM6.

I've noticed that too. One match I forgot I was in a light and stood still...disasterous lol.

It is why I call my Panthers Mini-Vindicators.

The Panther is the most fun I've had piloting a light mech in MWO. I love it. It just _feels_ right.

Happen to me just last night.
Was happily poking an Orion in swamp, forgot about my six and get 1hitKO'd.

Oddly, the 10K with erppc and 2xSRM4 is the only one I really am enjoying so far.

That's exactly how I treat mine.... maybe that is why it kinda works for me.

I still suck in it, but I tend to suck less than in other Lights, beside my Firestarters, which of course, are absolutely not broken at all......

I finally got my first kill with my 10K last night after trying my new 2x ERPPC build. Lucky for me I got Planet Acid Rain, one of the hotter planets, so I spent a lot of time overheating and shutting down. Honestly I don't know how I survived as long as I did, I spent nearly as much time standing stock still and shut down as I did running around and fighting.

I know, I should have managed my heat better, but this whole not being able to kill anything was really getting me down so I kept taking crazy risks. I guess my team was being quite distracting because if I played like I did that game in pretty much any other match I wouldn't have made it through the first 4 minutes. But my crazy gambles paid off, I double tapped this poor Catapult, and finished it off, overheated for the last time, and finally died horribly to enemy fire. Now my KD is only something like 1/15 instead of 0/14.

I ran that for a while in my 10K. Its a great build. I went to an SR6 for heat reasons, but plan to go back to 2 SRM4s once I achieve 2x basics.

I do enjoy my 9R equally when running laser vomit. I run 1 LPLaser, 2 MLasrers and I think an SRM4.

I had ditched the SRM4 for a SRM2 and 1/2 ton ammo before and ran a 3rd MLaser, but it is a bit too hot. Again, I may go back to that once that chassis hits 2x basics.
