Ok enough is enough PGI.
You have to do something about your tker problem.
And it is a problem.
Since we can't name and shame and beside he just makes troll accounts anyway.
And why can't you even search the pilots name anymore?
And support for this problem is non existent.
This individual was banned sometime ago,but I've had the misfortune of running across him from time to time.
Yeah I know post a screenshot to tech support yada yada - ineffective.
Done it before.
Anyway that's my rant I kinda feel sorry for the misfit.

Seems to me like some sort of ratio of damage to team vs damage to enemy could be done - we know they track damage to team. If that's above 50%, well ... objectively measurable problem, right?

I haven't seen it happen very often, and when it does happen seems to usually be an accident rather than deliberate.

I guess you're unlucky?

i killed a guy the other day who was ripping components off friendlys and bragging how pgi keeps banning him and how he just makes another account to do it all over again. So i blew him up. He even threatened to report me lol. good thing i had shadowplay going at the time.

I had a run with a particular TKer a couple weekends ago, where he kept showing up first on my team then on the other, then back on mine again, on and off all weekend.

I sent an email to support after the first encounter. A few days later I got an email back from support, and I haven't seen the guy since. However, he's one of those guys who keeps making new accounts with similar names just so he could keep trolling people.

Still, IP bans are complicated (for example, what about people who use the same network to connect?) and unreliable (how easy is it to spoof your IP, really). Individual bans are pretty much the only option that works, even as slow as they are to implement.

I don't know what to say but I haven't seen intentional TKers since Open Beta. As far as I can tell it's not a big problem.

I've seen a few accidents, having being both the victim and perpetrator of a few of them. At least with VoIP it's now easy to quickly apologise.

Sometimes it can be pretty funny, and other times it's just like "whoops, sorry about that" like when my AC10 round converged on an enemy the same time our friendly light did and it blew out his back.

This is from a few months back which is the last time I honestly remember getting team killed. We were both pretty good natured about it.

Naw Fuddy I know who the guy is, a former Steiner player.
And I'm willing to bet it's the same guy.
Since we can't name and shame I won't.
He just troll's up an account and TK people in this trail mechs.
He even told me who he formerly was.
Why he got banned is unknown.
I have a list of all his incarnations, and his tag is still in my friends account.
He seemed like a good guy and a decent player don't really know what happened.
Maybe his kitten died and he went rogue.
Lolz.
Like I said kinda sad.

It happens but it's not a huge issue. I record and stream all my games. If I am intentionally TK'd, I just upload a private youtube vid of it and send support a link. No name and shame and a complete record is sent in. What they do with it from there is their problem. I don't waste any more thoughts on it.

Deal with it however you see fit just don't advertise.

I will say iv never been spoken to about it and I think that's because once team stuff is in order I go find the enemy and get stuck into them.

I created a thread a little while ago trying to find a more serviceable way to deal with TK'ers but some people want reporting to be overly difficult without implementing a way to discourage it more harshly. As it is now, you get penalized for defending yourself against TK'ers.

Im saying I have not been penalized yet and iv defended myself ( whenever I got the chance ) and gone to the aid of others.

The only thing in this game/social community I've ever been in trouble for is saying what I think on forums ;)

Oh im so gonna get muzzled again :(

Did this TK'ers name contain roman numerals, perchance?

I meant if you kill them, there is no distinction. Not all mechs can just be disarmed and no more problem.

I see Tks every so often but frankly you can't do anything more to stop it without causing problems for others.

The system works as it is even though when it happens to you its a big deal.

Way back when I actually had a bounty on my head and for a week or two I was getting Tked multiple times a day. It was good knowing I had such an effect with the mouth breathers.

Follow protocol.

Screenshot the incident. (Press F12 and the pic will be stored in C:/User/{username}/Saved Games/Mechwarrior Online/Screenshots)

email it to support@mwomercs.com

Include map, and approximate time of day.

Been in since early CB. I can count the number of intentional TK's (not horsing around with the unit stuff) on less than two hands.

I dont get all the threads about TK'rs. Hell, even on ALT accounts, I have yet to see an intentional TK.

Similiarly, I used to abhor disconnects, thinking they were 'farming' (if there is such a thing) but now with reconnect, every DC I see usually reconnects. And I mean just.about.every.single.one.

Our community is a good one, revel in it. If you see someone TK'ing, report them. They will go away.

Oh, obligatory "its just a game" comment for posterity.

Strip side torso too, if not an XL.

I've seen plenty of accidental TK due to friendly fire ... but sadly also a handful of cases of "hey I'm a douche zap zap zap" TKing.
