hey i found something interesting this guy is selling 1/100 scale model kits and they seem to be made by the dude who is making resin models

I believe he makes models of their parts, then uses a 3D printer to print them out.

Yup, take a look thru his blog.
He designs them using 3dmax I believe and then prints them with a 3d printer.
He generally makes them (5 different mechs right now) in 1/100 scale because there are many Macross and Dougram figures in that scale
( and because its more cost effective) but he can actually print in any size as long as you understand the bigger, the more expensive.
He printed a 1/60 Vulcan for me and it wasnt cheap.
