OK, VoIP is checked. All set to default.
Headphones with mic connected
Why no VoIP? No speaker on loading screen?

The speaker by the name is the mute button, so unless you want to mute yourself in addition to it being push to talk only there isn't a need for the icon by your own name ;)

It would be nice if there was a way to test your mic levels in the mech lab to make sure your mic is working though.

Turn ur mic up in audio menu under settings, if a box under ur minimap with ur name appears when u push to talk Voip is working.

If you want to be successful with VOIP and considered a good teammate like the units usually have, please keep these things in mind.

1. Keep it clean so people don't mute you because they have little ears in the room or just don't cotton to that kinda talk.
2. Be tactically helpful. Call target letters you are shooting at or scouting.
3. Follow Wheaton's Law. http://knowyourmeme....es/wheatons-law
4. Above all, listen for good info.

edit: 5. ACT on good info.

I find voip rather disturbing my sniping gameplay and thats why i deactivated it. I dont think it adds anything useful to this game and is more or less a shiny feature for the die hard fans.

As this is a comment by a team killer it can be safely ignored.

Sniping is for COD, this is a team oriented game. Tired of these guys hiding in a nest and picking the bones of teammates hard work. Even worse the ECM sniper that would serve the team better by helping with LRM cover.

Anyone else had luck with a bluetooth headset? I've been using mine, but it seems hit and miss if my team can hear me.

Not everyone has Voip activated. Some people have it disabled. That could be part of the "problem".

Otherwise, no. I have a wired in mic. Can't help otherwise.

I have an issue where all is enabled and was working fine. Currently, when I press Caps Lock, I get no box at the bottom, and thereby no VOIP. Any thoughts? I've tried disabling VOIP and re-enabling to no avail. Also ran the repair tool.

Thanks!

The speaker symbol next to their names when you pull up the team lists.

Click on it and you can mute that player
