LOL @ this event...

I just figured, to get the adder (prime) it would take me about 15-20 hours depending on averege wins (Team Dependent/Luck)... If it was a job I would be making around $2.00/hr. before tax lol.

Suicide farming with a Fatty could get you a point every 5 or so minutes, which.....wow, is still 4 hours.

These types of events encourage unhealthy behavior and bad game play, IMHO. I just play like I always do. If I get some premium time, all the better, but I don't have any desire to "try hard" for any of the rewards. Haven't seen anyone "suicide farming" yet but I wouldn't be surprised to see it as the weekend progresses.

That is what most people in the service industry make. But instead of being left loose change as a tip. You get paid in C-Bills and Consumables. Sounds like a win to me!

Kill, assist, drop - seeing it a lot already. Does I guess make an opportunity for light mechs to get some kills if they are fast enough to not die and sneaky enough to get the disconnected assault before someone else does.

Yeah, it's a pretty good challenge, and I'll probably do what I usually do and go for the mechbay or free item or premium time (got Panthers to grind!), but I'm an IS player: I don't need or want an Adder. Bonus that I have plans this weekend, so I won't have a lot of time to deal with LRM-darkened skies.

Because if you are, it's totally worth it. If it's a grindfest, painful drag that makes you want to uninstall the game? Then no, it ain't. Because the only reason to play a game is for fun.

You get paid to play games? Me and most people I know play games for entertainment. Getting free stuff for something I am already doing is a bonus...

So what is the monetary value of the rewards you get during regular play? Is it greater than $2 an hour? Does that really have anything to do with why you play?

We play this game because we get enjoyment out of it. That enjoyment has a value to us greater than the other uses of our time. If the game stops being sufficiently enjoyable, then you should stop playing...for the obvious reason that it's other value, such as its monetary value, is basically zero.

It seems the OP is either making no point or not a good point.

For the entire swath of non-premium players, the 3 days free premium time which starts after a mere 3 points is the reason to bang out all those matches. Anything else is just bonus.

So the max one can earn is 1 point per match, hard to to earn points for people with jobs and responsibilities. Oh well, I suppose I can find a new job on Monday
