LegoPirate, serious question here: are you going to set the expectation on members you try to recruit that they're not permitted to use the forums?

Because, good luck with that. While I sympathize with the fact that some members apparently stepped out of line, I would submit a more nuanced approach is going to be required.

Of course, it's your unit, and ultimately the members will either choose to live under your strictures or leave, but I think you're going to be better setting expectations of acceptable behavior and *publicly* lowering the ban hammer when appropriate than just the last thing people remember about MS is that some people were idiots and then the *entire player base* was not trusted to act in an appropriate manner.

The latter.. does not say great things about how you view the people you've decided to associate with

Is this seriously about BoBF and Hardkor having fun bantering with us as opposed to the guys making clear cut references to sexual assault (a few of them literally against children) and various misogynistic statements?

Look at the posts in this thread wheres someone in your unit literally laughs at the idea that maybe making posts that threaten or imply sexual assault is a really bad thing and nobody should do it.

A lot of the thread got purged, but some of stuff is probably still there in quoted posts and stuff.

He wasn't referring to moderators nuking posts. He was talking about MS guys coming in here threatening to ban people who post from the unit, in addition to a bunch of other awful fun-hating behavior that's been observed coming out of these boards lately.

But, that was his point. everything he said boils down to that. He's not special, you're not special, everyone's wrongs, so why not just have fun with it?

In my personal opinion, the correct way to play this game is to have fun doing it without being a total dickbag to others while having the most fun possible, and hopefully share some joy with like minded others.

Clearly, that's not going to work out for everyone all the time, but as long as we can be understanding of the fact that everyone is here to have fun in their own way and that that might conflict with our own personal interpretation of fun, we can all have fun without being total ***** to each other.
