It is vexing yet laughable how often I hear on Text (You voice people are the most mature I have EVER had the pleasure to play with), YOU STOLE MY KILL. to night was so...
fatiguing to hear over and over. YOU STOLE MY KILL.

Some would even go as far as to THREATEN a team mate for STEALING their Kill.
BUT YOU DIDNT GET THE KILL. SO IT IS NOT YOURS.

A Bird in the hand.. Oh forget it.
TEAM WORK
TEAM..
Does that mean anything to you?

I don't care about tournament and ratios. It is NOT YOUR KILL IF YOU DIDN'T GET IT.
SUCK IT UP. GET THE KILL!
Use your Lock and aim for weak points.

NO I don't have a 50 kill ... tournie reward as a polite player(from the dead pointed out). But I could if but for RL.
GET YOUR KILLS AND STOP threatening team mates.
Work as a team, move shoot kill. Move and shoot and kill.

I know that most of you will NOT be the threatening ones if you are here reading this.

I just had to vent.
Thanks

You didn't steal the kill.

You secured it in a more efficient manner for the team.

I have a simple philosophy for this - play as though you aren't actually in a tournament.

Those whiny little "KILLSTEAL" chanting legions can't force me into their narrative. If I can gut an enemy mech, i'm going to do it. If they really want kills, then they just need to forage for themselves.

MWO is not League of Legends; there is no intentionally feeding kills to a carry mech in hopes of the said mech performing better later on. There is only "Kill Secured".

I think only kills that count as solo kills for the purposes of match rewards should count.

The uproar would be amazing.

I always play to kill. I'd like to admit that I'm a generous guy, but reality is when the battle is going I zone in and often forget about the "challenge of the week". It's only until the end of round screen screen where I feel a bit guilty about getting 4+ kills when a lot of my teammates missed the boat.

So to all you kill stealing accusers, let it be known that some of us don't do it on purpose. We do it because that's what a successful Mechwarrior has been trained to do--kill the enemy as quickly as possible. It's hard to break years of training for a few special weekend events.

Not sure about this, but most damage dealt would probably cause interesting forum activity..

Thanks. Honestly.. Thanks for the great replies. Although I would like the Adder I play to this thought process that I am there first and foremost for the TEAM win. Not sure what ELO really is. I think more it is a MYSTICAL thing that makes people feel good assuming they have a good one. I would put mine against any player any day of the week.(See I have a good one as well) But it is nice to hear so many other good players ignore this behavior. I usually don't subscribe to this sort of forum post but I just found it totally ... Horrible to hear an actual threat because of this.Silly.And I just went out and got more kills. Bcause I could in my firestarter.Even thanked a reporter of a LOW CT Timber I went and killed with my Firestarter. Thanked him and said I would do the same if I could. There really are some great players and I think with patience they all could become better players.

Only petulant folks with low self esteem whine about "stolen kills".

Every match in the past few challenges I held off killing more than one mech.
I lost.

two things in this game make me laugh.

1. people crying over "kill stealing".

2. the guy tonight crying over "no skill LRM users" who was driving a streak boat.

My #1 goal is to win the match.

If I pilot a mech which is meant to dish out, I try to do that, no matter how many kills I might score.
When the win is pretty much secured and I got a kill, I'll continue disarming or legging remaining mechs.

Piloting light mechs makes getting kills a bit harder and more dangerous.
You can work on a mech for minutes and suddenly some Gauss shots from across the map kill it.
So I have no problem if light/medium mechs "steal" their 1 kill.
Seeing pilots with multiple kills and subpar damage leaves a bitter taste though.

Hmm. Maybe I'll start sacrificing myself to an opponent who needs a kill, when the match is decided and I'm the last man standing...and got my kill :P

The only annoying thing during these is when you beat up a 'Mech from pretty much mint into critical on your own with no sort of backup and along comes some **** and "secures" the kill. Yes i get very salty about that but at least I have the dignity to just shout at my PC screen, not insult people via chat.

Last weekend when I got a kill early, I tried to just leg/cripple mechs unless we were losing, in which case I went all out for the win.

This weekend, without the win component it's a bit excessive to go for a bunch of kills, particular if it's a roll and you could back off and let other guys score their point.

That's a pretty noble attitude. I might do that as well, since I already have a terrible kdr and I don't really care about it that much.

Steal my kill, no probs.

Steal / take 8 kills with less then 100 damage.

That's when I have a problem with people during events like these....

That was a serious problem in the events where you had to get a total number of kills. Non-contributing poachers were everywhere.
