An interesting refit, but the XL engine is useless in my opinion...
An upgrade with double heat sinks, the ER-PPC and maybe Endo-Steel would have done the job, keeping the top speed at around 80 but giving it a longer lifespan without the squishy XL-Engine...

Good mech though i think i'll still stick to my old awesome. It's slow i know but can take a beating and give a good whopping lot of it too.

We will see. Sometimes better is not so good. Then again Kan-Bon. "Continous improvement using baby steps" Works great!

This its speed and weapons allotment, the Grand Dragon is going to be one of the premier scout hunters in the game. I know thats what Ill be using my ride for if I ever get one.

The DRG-5K was one of my favorites way back in the day. Hope to see it in game soon. If it would have been a founders mech I probably wouldn't have even debated about the Legendary pack.

Wasn't the Grand Dragon introduced in 3024 and the Dragon phased out in 3040? This is what the sarna wiki says which I thought was based on the Battletech source material. Either way, I never really liked the original look of these 2 mechs but Piranha has done a nice job with the redesign.
Well production was switched over to the Grand Dragon, but there was still large numbers of older Dragons in service, enough that they got a field refit kit to use an Ultra AC/5 instead of the older standard AC plus CASE for the ammo.
