Well done PGI. Obviously this decision has angered a few punters who paid up very early, and I salute their support/passion.

But I would like to thank PGI for listening to many of us who thought that the Feb 28th just wasn't enough time, well done PGI! :D

Might want to correct the "Feb 28th" deadline for the bonus mechs boxes still in the purchase page then...

But still.... JUNE? Make it April, and I'll whip out that wallet right now... still struggling with June....

I was one of those who wished they extended the deadline. Yet i'm feeling sad after they did so.

Must be my greed

I am also very pleased that the deadline was extended. I was hoping that would happen. I did manage to meet the Feb. 28 deadline, but it was unpleasant to say the least. I am not angry nor upset with PGI and since I love playing MWO I am happy that PGI could make a bit more from their content.

I do believe a bit of thank you is in order to the people that scrapped up 120 in such short notice.

It will probably be some cockpit hanging or extra camo pattern...
But oh, I wish it was something big, like a Hellbringer P [hint].

On of these at least, for the true earlybirds.

Welcome to MWO Forums.

Nobody is moaning about getting what they paid for, we are angry that a "buy now or miss out" deal was changed on the dead line to "HAHA only joking you have plenty of time to buy it" after a massive load of MWO die hard fans made sacrifices in order to meet the deadline, everyone of them is now thinking "wow we now feel cheated out of the effort and dedication we showed by buying said pack early, the Reward for being early is now not an award for being early so the People who where early enough to grab the award are getting the same reward as the people who made no effort or could not meet the deadline......Hence angry moaning forum posts!

On top of already losing out on $50 worth of colours because we bought wave II.

I could have bought another Battle Tech rule book or TRO, or an Xbox one title and 1-2 levels of pack, rather than all mow.
A minor inconvenience, but it's there.
(though I think I'm less fussed than most)

Why?

Your no different to anyone else that buys them. You've spent the same amount as anyone else.
Now if they decided to make them cheaper you'd have a point.

But this, you don't.

Well said mechbane - what I've been trying to project in the other forum string. At any rate it would appear they have acknowledged it.

You got point but being rude for little reason doesnt help i think. Maybe a reminder or asking nice would go further.

I actually thought I was pretty polite.
Should try harder next time, I agree.

Like, produce the faction camo at a proper time and not half way through the package ?
or maybe like have some marketing skills and do it right first time, then this crap doesn't happen, extension or not, I don't pay another bean unless my resistance camo is available for my first two mech chasis, before they get mastered..

At least when other companies produce things for sale they are actually finished, buying packs is like buying a car with half the parts missing from PGI.

they haven't any class what so ever

You should know by now you cant trust pgi by their word, I mean it took 3 years for this crappy cw game mode to finally be released, now you are bitching about the early bird thing??? They are just mechs, mechs you can get for free btw if you just had patience.

I've been thinking about it, and I would like to see 3 things come to Wave III

1 - The token of appreciation for early adopters that made the Feb-28 deadline, -
It'd be nice if it was something semi exclusive, enough to satiate people but not enough that people will moan over it.
It cannot be a Norn Mech(s).
Personally, I think MWO logo mugs would be nice, they're rare enough to get, aren't generally sold and a nice touch, and cosmetic items are the most likely thing it'll be.

2 - I would like something to replace the 12 Premium Colours we miss out on for buying both Wave II and Wave III.
It feels punitive to those who supported both packages.
Ideally, I'd love to see us get 12 'colour of your choice' tokens, or the equivalent value in MC.
Really, it'd be nice if anything in any package that was unlock-only and not able to be duplicated (basically Camo Spec for X mech and Colours) automatically converted to the MC value if you already own it.

3 - Some sort of loyalty bonus.
Doesn't need to be much, I mean base on the Clan Wave II and Resistance Packs we got mugs / steins with the logos on.
There was also the Mad Dog and other stuff, but really just something little like more extra mugs / steins or even a hanging items with previous pack logos on would be a nice touch as with other packages.
(Hell, what would be exceptionally nice, is if you gave the early adopters that bought all the packs the other 4th Clan Variants. I know this won't happen, but it'd be nice.)

Just another from the long list of reasons to not spend money on this game. All you are buying is mechs that do the exact same thing as any other mech just looks different...whoopty ******* do!

Wish I could go back and not have spent a dime on this but instead just grinded for stuff instead...except I would have quit long ago like most of us would have but we wanted the good mechs and it was too much of an inconvenience to do it the hard way so we spent money and pretty much did the pay to win thing.

**** pgi sucks so hard.

Only a women would want a bunch of worthless hanging items as the free item to get lol

I'd rather have mc or be given valuable weapons like ac20's or bunch of small pulse lazers or something like that, something that is useful in the game not just when you are just marching too the check point.

*Good snip*

AnimeFreak, you are right, a lot of people on here do *****. It's a part of forum etiquette nowadays, unfortunately, but a good % of it still comes from what has happened in the past.
MWO was arguably a subpar game considering the development time and resources that the game had. That being said, the team had to go through insurmountable obstacles that they HAD to keep quiet about due to IGP's policies. If PGI had been independent since the beginning, a lot would've been different and the playerbase would not have been quite as mad because the devteam would've been able to spell out the troubles that they were having with a low number of people working on the team, CryEngine not liking fast objects, etc etc.

So for 2 years the forums slowly went out of control until common posts were about how Big Brother PGI was just trying to come up with another Scam each month. Fast forward to the release of the Clans, a lot of people felt like PGI did well and that they were actually working hard, more faith instilled with the IP, etc. Then they break off from IGP, even more hope. Then the hotfixes and patches start rolling in like liquid gold. It wasn't always this way, so a lot of people are still upset by that and the fact that MWO is still big stompy arena fighting. There's no rhyme or reason behind why people are shooting at each other.

You are correct that what PGI did with this recent package deal wasn't purposely deceitful. It's doubtful that they planned on purposely having this short bonus period, then providing an extension to screw those that already bought into the package. If fact you can listen to the latest town hall with Russ and hear the sincerity in his voice that yes, it's a short deadline, but only because we want to reward players that buy in even though they can't see all of the concept art yet.
The thing that you have to understand though, is that the original intent of the action doesn't matter. Only the action and its' repercussions are what matter to people. It doesn't matter if the government killed 5 people in cold blood because that was the only thing to do in that situation to prevent a worldwide epidemic, all that matters to the people is that the government killed 5 innocent people because they had a runny nose.

So in this scenario, it doesn't matter to most Early Birds that PGI originally did this Early Bird special to reward faithful backers. What does matter is that they had to put off buying a new video card for another week because PGI wanted to play games with the deadline.
To put it simply, it's politics and wordgames that are upsetting people. PGI went back on their word regarding this ridiculously short deadline, and they feel a little cheated. They have the right to as well, as I hope you now understand. Unless someone is willing to look past the effort that they put into earning the money for this early bird special and see that PGI didn't mean to do this to them, they are going to be understandably mad over the work that they put in which was for naught.

As a result, the mad Early Birds feel that they understandably deserve an extra something as gratitude from PGI for making the deadline, which has now been moved up. It's, if put out of proportion, reminiscent of workers asking for a bonus because they made an insanely short deadline that was completely unfair of the company that they work for to set.

Wow, insulting, sexist and poorly spelt all at once, your parents must be so proud.

I suggested cosmetic items as it's something that you can only get for real money, therefore has a tangible value to my money.
'Premium' Cockpit Items average around 750MC each, so say, 4 adds US$15 of value.

I can earn an AC20 or two in an hour, and mechs worth of Small Pulses a match, which are free in game.
Yes you can buy C-Bills, and apply a value to that, but even if we say 4 AC20's, that's 960MC, or around US$4ish.

Plus the idea wasn't something crazy, time consuming or excessive, just a nice nod of appreciation to those who bought previous packs.

But then you're the guy that thought US$120 was almost US$200, so~
