We have some idea of what the Battlegrid will do for us, but my question is in relation to the Command Console. We know Command Console equipped Mechs are rare at this time, but what play options will it actually provide.
Will it provide an "Advanced" version of the Battlegrid?

If they're dedicated to making "Command" one of the roles, I assume it'll function sort of like a C3 Master (I know, I know, timeline. Don't care for this one thing.) and other special things. I really hope they make the roles unique rather than just saying "Anything with ECM is a scout!" Perhaps command can issue orders and people that follow them are rewarded, or maybe Off-Map support like artillery is only available to those with command suites etc.
I really really hope they bend the timeline regarding C3 though, that was huge regarding information warfare.

I think in terms of command it will be a fairly basic command interface that will improve in the quality of information and intel transmission once C3 equipped mechs become available.

The way I see it is something like we have in modern military forces. The commander has a console in his Battlemech which shows a tactical grid, recon mechs will be able to mark enemy positions on his map, and allow the commander to see updating information here in real time. He can set waypoints to his forces via grid reference, or deploy fire support, or maybe even allow you to use imaging satellite (if you had that resources) to get recon images of a grid reference allowing you to see the Opfor's Battlemech compliment before you've actually engaged, allowing to alter your tactics to combat their exact forces. Certainly some serious uses for it.

Would be scrum-diddly-umptious to have that available for use at launch, it would something worth grinding for, am I right?
