Thing is, most competent players agree that while there are differences in strengths between the two factions there is no astronomical difference with one or the other faction being stronger.

While the clans have an omnipod system that is quite nice the IS mechs with the appropriate quirks and hardpoints can stand toe to toe with them if not excel at things that the clans cant due to heat/reduced burn time etc.

Why should Clans be forced to have significantly altered drop weights? Sure ok most people only run mediums and heavies right now but basically youre saying ok well PGI I am ok with being able to run whatever mechs from various weight classes I want but I dont care if clan players can use the mechs that they want. Sure while right now direwolves due to crappy mobility are not seen in any decent CW groups once they are you want to say well ok if youre taking a Direwolf you can only take 2 lights or something to that effect? No thanks.
