As a fellow mech stuffed toy maker I must reply to this thread!

First of all, it is easy to tell from the very first glance that it is a King Crab. Also, it is very cute! Those huge claws are adorable. In short, I like your King Crab design. It is very good as the second attempt. :3 That is what I love about mech plushies; making the killing machines cute. I'm not sure if you have the same thing as me, which is that I already see mechs adorable in my head... I just need to bring that image out of my head in a plushie form for others to see.

Then some advice. I know from experience that making all the details is lots of work (I have been working on my Cicada plushie's cockpit for two hours today and it's still not done) and it is very tempting to make things in the simplest possible way. It can feel quite frustrating to work on something so small for so long, but in my opinion all the little details give every stuffed toy their personality.

It is only my guess, but I have a feeling that you got very excited about turning the King Crab into a stuffed toy form, and so you wanted to get it done as soon as possible so you could see the final product. Then it is very easy to make mistakes, such as forgetting to turn it inside out for some parts. And when excited, it is very easy to leave the mistakes there instead of fixing them because you just want to see the final product so bad. I'm not trying to be mean at all, that is actually exactly how I started making handcrafts myself! Patience is the key, and in the end it is worth it.

Imagine if you made the cockpit out of a different coloured fabric, for example. That would give it more "personality", but it is also more work. Or making the claws, that is a bit tricky but it would definitely give it even more Crabby look! My point is, the more detailed the stuffed toy is, the more time it takes to make it, but the better it looks like. It all depends on how you want your mech stuffed toy to look like.

Every time you make a mech stuffed toy, you learn something new from it and you can see what you want to do better next time. You gain more experience and you will be able to make more detailed mechs. It's all about the practice. Keep it up, Mandy! :)

Yea after my first failure I kinda rushed this one, and I need more experience. I will keep making them and I will get one that stands and looks a lot better.. eventually :) thanks for the kinds words and valid criticism everyone.
