IMO the ST mounts are fine because they are roughly cockpit level and the NVA has JJs.

Both the Victor and Highlander, former top tier jump snipe mechs, both have nipple mounted energy hardpoints and waist mounted arm weapons - easily worse locations for the weapons but mitiaged by jump jets.

Don't forget the Cataphract, which is notorious for its terrible arm mounts but great torso mounts.....poor CTF-4X knows the truth of this very well.

The Warhawk is my most played clan mech, and the Banshee is my most played mech.. the Warhawk doesnt even come close to comparing to the Banshee, (or Battlemasters or stalkers tbh)

However the Warhawk is still decent, id say it comes in 5th best at the moment, id put them in this order personally (taking their tonnage into account):

1) Stormcrow
2) Timberwolf
3) Dire Wolf
4) Hellbringer
5) Warhawk
6) Mad Dog
7) Kit Fox
8) Summoner
9) Nova
10) Adder
11) Ice Ferret
12) Mist Lynx
13) Gargoyle

Note that based on what we know now, I think Wave III will bump the Warhawk down 3 spots at least, with only the Gladiator being below it. And even that will be close i think.

MDD below the WHK?!?! HBR below the DWF?!?

You are smoking crack sir....lolz :P

But its close...and the clan mechs are suited for so many roles. But id say my list goes more like this....

1 TBR
2 SCR
3 HRB
4 DWF
5 MDD
6 WHK
7 SMN
8 NVA
9 GAR
10 KTF
11 ICF
12 MLX
13 ADR

and Andi, WHK is leaps and bounds better then a GAR. Try running the GAR in place of WHK during some CW spearheads and you will see what i mean. You cant miss the CT.

Sorry guys... I am the reason the Nova is not getting quirked lol
Look forward to the new changes!

I also do quite well in mine despite them being hot as the sun....

But some durability quirks would be nice!

I'd personally want to do a Gargles vs Warhawk showdown.

I'm sure it's the crazy in me talking, but personally I'd like to make that attempt of hilarity.

A 12v12 Gargoyle vs Warhawk private match would be fun.

I was thinking more like 1v1, but I can see the hilarity ensuing here.

I sorta expect a good pilot in a Garg to win that duel.

At range WHK has the advantage.
Close up, I'd probably give the advantage to the Gargoyle.

Theoretically you could go LRM60....but you lose so much doing that.

LA with multiple missile hardpoints would be fantastic.

Not for LRMs though, that would be such a tragic waste of an 89kph 80 ton mech.

6E in RA, 3 (?) x ASRM 4 or 6 in RA.

I would run that in a heartbeat.

Only two I'm afraid, with a 3rd in the LA of the Prime. Only leaves you with CT slots left, since Dakka isn't an option at that point.

Mr Gargles does need some help. It's a worse ThunderBolt in many regards, with less ST structure, lower mounts, and more heat.

Agreed, generally. My 12 SPL Gargoyle is such a beast up close but it has to get VERY close first and most of my Warhawk builds are awesome at range. I could see my WHK-B with its 95pt alpha (laser vomit minus 1 CERML but with ASRM24) giving even wubgoyle a spanking up close.

If I had to duel a Warhawk in my Gargoyle I would use my prime
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...c5fd1b3877c3a1e

long range poking power with the LPL. then once we get in close I can open them up.

Truth be told I think the Gargoyle would wreck the Warhawk in a 1v1 situation... 12v12 however 12 long range warhawks could leg half the gargoyles before they managed to get in close on a lot of maps. Still, would be a hilariously entertaining fight :P

You overestimate it greatly.

No.

You are underestimating it.

You said the only knack on it the sentence before; scaling, it's a bit big. That's all.

I smoke Crows 1v1 in Nova unless they're boating SRMs (or boulder rocking 700m out and I'm boxed in then yeah ofc).

Or at 400M?

Only thing the NopeVa does better is short range, which can be matched by SRMs, with less precision.

Sword and board is risky, MGs are worthless, arms are low mounted.

Honestly, you feel the 10 SPL build is acceptable? That puts your maximum effective range closer to 300M.

Even at 300m those SPLs are not doing much. As much as I enjoy the 12 CERSL/12 CSPL Nova builds since I got the SCR-A I have discovered SCR brawling with both 5 x CSPL/3 x CSSRM6 and 5 x CSPL/3 x CASRM6 and it is much more effective because I stay alive much longer.

Absolutely.

When I realized that it's not tart heyday and that everyone sits around stroking harbl behind a rock for 10 mins before the actual engagement opens up, hell yes 300m is enough.

Gotta get over the fear of range. Even I had trouble/insecurity with it for about 2 weeks in my build. Hell, fights turn into facehumping all the time. It's about going unchecked and using the mobility of the mech to position correctly.

The more I play the mech the more I stare at Seismic/map only and never the actual game screen unless it's to pull a Dorito, or place a shot. I crutch Seismic like never before, if you saw me you'd think I was narcoleptic for how many bunny hops to dead stops I do just to check it every few secs/meters.

Remember I played poptart sniper so I used to play from a zillion meters out. If I can return after 18 months and sit down and wreck in a mech that shoots only to 380m, then you know it's fine. Really.

PS - it's 10 cuz 10xSPL = same dmg as 12xERSL btw, less duration, faster cycle, range isn't important, it's recycle time and exposure time (specifically tarting exp)... double alpha is just below shutdown too at 10.

PPS - you said "at 400m?" Lets make one thing clear - if anyone has trouble closing ~100meters of range, they need to stop playin like the Nova, learn to soak in something tankier, get comfy, come back, and try again...

And yet if the Gargoyle had JJs, I'd probably play it over the Victor right now.
